Hopefully all of you whom are making itching itching powder are not using this on women ar in underwear drawers at all ... this is deamed as a pervertious and criminal act.........you need to do somthing more constructive with your livesLike read the bible. You obviously need to be led appropriately!!!!!!

Hmm.... were you taking a break from bible thumping when you logged onto this page??
Honestinwilkesbarre says: May 24, 2011. 8:54 AM
cerrai01, pervertious (not even a word) and criminal act? Putting itching powder of any kind in a woman's skivvies would be extremely stupid and most likely dangerous! It would be assault, pure and simple. Itching powder in a woman's neither-regions could, and most likely would cause painful DAMAGE! I dare say, possibly even life threatening! Why in the world would you post anything that might actually give someone such an idiotic idea? You're the one who put itching powder, women and underwear drawers in the same sentence.

Remember kiddies, when you're asked where you got such a moronic idea, you heard it from cerrai01 first.

The safest way to be sure someone doesn't do something is never to suggest it in the first place!!!

then why u reading this instructable????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
codongolev says: Apr 26, 2009. 2:04 PM
this instructable is for fun. it's not for people to use to play nasty pranks on others. granted, there will be some people who will, but they won't be stopped by your comment. there really wasn't any need to put such a harsh comment. really, it will probably give people ideas (for instance, I had no thought of using it in an underwear drawer until I read your comment). besides, people will most likely want to do that more just to tick you off. and that part about the bible.... I don't think anyone's going to read the bible because someone who just accused them of being pervertious and badly led told them to. besides, I doubt... no, I KNOW you don't spend all your free time reading the bible, seeing as you had time to look at and comment on this instructable.

The maple leaves work as a mechanical irritant, the tiny "hairs" are basically wood slivers. The rosehips method is a chemical irritant that chemically irritates the skim (similar to chemical burns and poison ivy, jellyfish stings, etc).

For those who were making fun of "SirRon's Toy", she is in the BDSM lifestyle and this is the sort of thing that....excites some people. Your mileage may very.

Using itching powder is not against the law in and of itself. (cannot find a single hit on Google referencing it) You can be charged with criminal intent if it can be proven that you were intending to cause harm to someone (over dosing, using a substance they are known to be allergic to). Making someone itch is not intending harm, just like marking someone's face with a sharpie when they passout drunk. If either person has an unintentional allergic reaction, that was not the jokester's intent, so it is not considered malicious.
Quez Oreo Merchant says: Jun 2, 2011. 2:21 AM
you can also make it from a dead red rose and boiling water.

let the rose die, a small green fruitlike thing will form inside
use scisorrs and a toothpick and scoop into a small paper cup.
sit next to a cup of boiling water for five or 15 mins. or until fluffy.
DO NOT TOUCH WITH YOUR BARE HANDS.
sit cup of fluffy stuff in a sunny area.
let it turn to a powder and sprinkle on something or someone.
Make sure this doesnt get into eyes, mouth, or internaly
have fun!!!!!!

I wonder if my ex would like for me to "spice up" his stuff before returning it?? I mean in honor of the miraculous recovery his deceased wife made from that aneurysm that killed her 3 years ago...she's doing very well, considering she's been "dead" for 3 years. you think he squirmed when I found out about her and a whole other wife he never even mentioned????wonder how much he'd squirm now.
I would never intentionally hurt another  person, I'm just working it out in my fantasy.

Archive555 says: Dec 28, 2009. 2:00 AM
There's this brand-new thing called the 'Internet', it's great, you can look up virtually anything! On this internet is a thing called Google, which can search the Whole internet, and a thing called Wikipedia which has information of virtually everything! Even Sodium Carbonate!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_carbonate

Seriously. Use your head. Figure it out.
Archive555 says: Dec 28, 2009. 2:02 AM
Incase you don't know how to open links, Sodium Carbonate is, as Wikipedia says:

Sodium carbonate (also known as washing soda, soda crystals or soda ash), Na2CO3, is a sodium salt of carbonic acid. It most commonly occurs as a crystalline heptahydrate, which readily effloresces to form a white powder, the monohydrate; and is domestically well known for its everyday use as a water softener.

I remember hearing that real itching powder was powdered rattlesnake venom. Don't know how true that is, but My sister got dosed with some kind of itching powder in school, she had to go home and change it got so bad.
Kings_Fool says: Sep 6, 2007. 11:38 AM
i have also heard you can soak hair in bleach and you will get the same result...
a7x92x says: Aug 24, 2007. 3:31 PM
yeah, I was going to make one too, but i guess you beat me. Since you made this, I will add on. When you think about it, the "feathers" are basically leaves. If you don't have those things near you, then you can use leaves instead. When I first read this, those weren't dead and dried out yet, so i put them in an airtight container in a dark dry place.
pooboy says: Jul 18, 2007. 8:38 PM

cynthia5128 says: Mar 1, 2007. 12:10 AM
Itching powder sold in joke shops and by mail order in comic books was originally made from the hairs from the bodies of Tarantulas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarantula

There is mounting evidence that fiberglass can cause similar health problems to asbestos. I would not be mucking around with it.
!Andrew_Modder! says: Feb 16, 2007. 7:32 PM
Cool, i remember when i was younger i used to play in leafs with my friends in the fall and i remember i used to come out ichy! SO you could get thos mapel thingies or you could get some dry brown leafs and put them in a mini coffee grinder or blender. (you would make a Sh1# load of this stuff) you could keep it in a altoids container and then pull some out and blow it on your friend and hell go lahh!! 'ichy' >:-D
lemonie says: Feb 11, 2007. 1:44 PM
Also the fruits of the rose contain itchy-hairs. One might face litigation if using e.g. poison ivy, glass fibres... be careful eh.
place name here- says: Jan 30, 2007. 5:56 PM
Cool I always wanted to get itching pouder now I can make it he he >:)
zofo300 says: Jan 29, 2007. 10:22 PM
so wat u really mean is turn dried up leaves and stuff into powder that sounds easy enough
lukeRAMBO says: Jan 29, 2007. 12:34 AM
i like it keep up the good work
crestind says: Jan 28, 2007. 10:52 AM
What other plants might create a similar effect?
leevonk says: Jan 28, 2007. 1:31 PM
also, obviously, poison ivy and poison oak, but those last a long time and cause blistering.
leevonk says: Jan 28, 2007. 1:27 PM
if you live near a beach, look for the thorny bushes that live by the sand, some have fruits that look like little miniature tomatoes. break/cut those tomatoes in half and rub the insides on whatever you want to itch.
copic (author) says: Jan 28, 2007. 10:34 AM
My 'itching powder' is not dangerous because is from wood hairs. The effect is like 10 minutes, I dont recomend fiberglass because it can get under the skin and it doesnt inflame. You can get heart attack by getting some large piece of fiber glass into the vein. So i don't approve that kind of stuff.
frank26080115 says: Jan 27, 2007. 11:56 AM
take wall insulation, the pink fiber glass, and rub two handfuls (wearing rubber gloves) together until you have a pile of fine glass fibers small enough for itch powder, if i remember correctly, adding ground pepper makes it better
ColumbusGEEK says: Jan 27, 2007. 12:21 PM
Hey Frank, I do custom cable installs and you are an evil evil person for suggesting that. That crap is horrific for DAYS. It gets in your bed and is in everything.
frank26080115 says: Jan 27, 2007. 2:14 PM
well that's exactly what they used to sell in spencer's gifts, a small packet of glass fibers mixed with pepper that they call itch powder
trebuchet03 says: Jan 27, 2007. 1:12 PM
not to mention -- insulation is spun (or some other method) to keep it from floating like dust... Grind it up and you'll be breathing inorganic glass.... Your future fibrosis will thank you :/

Columbus -- to get fiberglass out of your skin... Very Hot water (as hot as you can handle) and a wash rag. Brush your skin hard with the rag in one direction away/down the body. It has done the trick for me every time I've gotten glass (or carbon from carbon fiber) itching in my skin :P I also keep and wash exposed clothing separately.
Jesus10555 says: Feb 2, 2007. 12:01 AM
aside from insulation.... working up on the roof gets ya too (if you happen to be lazy, and squat/crouch/lean/lay .... basically if you are not standing 100% of the time. the elbows are the worst!
Scrupulous says: Jan 27, 2007. 3:27 PM
I was wondering how this instructable could take a positive spin.

Thanks for the tip, treb.
frank26080115 says: Jan 27, 2007. 2:11 PM
i heard you can spread elmers glue and wait till it dries, then peel it off
hg341 says: Dec 7, 2007. 5:08 PM
yea you can it fun but put it on thick it get hard to get off it is on thin...
ColumbusGEEK says: Jan 27, 2007. 1:14 PM
My solution was to stop doing that line of work. :)
trebuchet03 says: Jan 27, 2007. 1:40 PM
haha -- fair enough :P Or get someone else to do the fun stuff :)

In my case, its using (rather, sanding) fiberglass mat occasionally :P
Scrupulous says: Jan 27, 2007. 3:28 PM
What do you mean by "sanding" the mat?
PetervG says: Jan 27, 2007. 11:21 AM
I don't understand the mixing part.
