Already finished the hardware steps, we will come to electronic issue, i use a parallax basic stamp, but any other are good.


is necessary to program the servomotors, first that turn from a side to another one, stop and take a photo(the camera have a remote control and shut it with the basic stamp), when 360 degrees is complete i have a 20 photos aprox, the camera up and takes another sequence.

Please could you advise the best circuit to connect a basic stamp 2 to a canon slr camera so that I can trigger the shutter from the stamp program as you are doing in your 360 panoramic photo robot ? I'm not sure enough to risk damaging the camera by experimenting! My project is timing the camera operation after a laser break event

Hi, you can connect the camera without risk using a relay or a octocupler, in the relay case you connect the basicstamp to a tansistor and a relay you will protect the basicstamp with a diode in the relay, the other method are using a octocupler. the relay are not faster like a octocupler , then if you like shutter a fast situation dont work.

this link show an example with octocupler if yo like use this method you can connect the basicstamp directly to a octocoupler like a in this example show. the difference is in the connection to a serial port.

Hi Maggy, check my new photos in www.cincosentidos.cl , i don't have a problem with a 50mm lens (wide angle),and th the shutter control is directly from basicstamp to camera. circuit it a very simple with a basic stamp is not hard to use, write me: [e-mail] for instructions and code for a basicstamp 1.
