In this instructable I'll teach you how to handsew your very own Robot plushie.

You know you want one!

Don't know how to sew? Not a problem. I can teach you!

Step 1: Shopping for supplies.

For this plushie, you will need:

  • 1/2 yard of yellow fleece (get more if you're nervous.)
  • yellow all-purpose thread to match fleece
  • sewing needles
  • nice scissors to cut the fleece
  • a felt tip pen for marking out the pattern (a sharpie, if nothing else.)
  • pins for pinning the pieces together
  • fiberfill or another sort of stuffing
  • patience
  • felt for decoration/features - I chose red, yellow, gray and black.
  • embroidery needle and yellow embroidery floss.
  • Fabri-Tac fabric glue
  • optional - a bit of cardboard to reinforce the butt.
  • a nice, comfortable place to sit.

If you're unsure about what any of these are, please ask.

<p>This would be Great if you add a Youtube Tutorial of this Instructable, it would be easy</p>
I commend you for answering questions 6 years after posting most authors don't do that..verry cool!
<p>Sorry I forgot to ask, How tall is he?</p>
<p>He's around 10 inches, I think! :D</p>
<p>As soon as I can go out, I am going to get some felt.</p><p>I sew by hand at the moment, mainly repairing.</p><p>Stuck in the house. Thank you so much for making this instrtructibl e</p>
<p>It's a great tutorial for beginners. And with it, a good start to create more plushes. Thanks to this one, I even created another one. Ain't that good, but still extremely adorable. ^w^</p><p>Thank you SO much for this instructable! It was so fun to make it. ^^</p><p>Keep being great!</p>
Do you think I could use boning to make him square?
So cute!!!
this is so cool! i don't know if i have the patience though!!! <br>
Very cool Im going to give it a go!
I am making one right away! Congrats Jessy! Supercool!<br>
Awww cute! If only I had that skill LOL
Can you build me one? :) JK I bet you get asked that a lot!!! He's absolutely wicked. My robots need a plush toy company lol. I wish i had sewing skills right about now
I got most of this guy done in a late-night sewing session with my sister last Christmas, and then never quite finished. All of the embellishments are sewn on, I didn't trust fabric glue in the long run. The wheels are stuffed gray felt, I'm planning on sewing hubs on once I find some white felt.<br><br>This was a great project for teaching me to sew. I'd never done anything more complicated than a button before this. Yay for learning new skills!<br><br>Here he is chilling in front of the 1992-1994 NatGeos with his new pals Pilot Bear and the TARDIS.
He is beautiful!!! :D
you should sell these
:D Thanks! I rather like him sitting on that shelf, he's smiling happily at me anywhere I go in my bedroom.
After all these years I still want one.<br>That one, specifically, because my sewing skills are weak.
Best instructables robot toy/plushie i have seen :)
I think you broke the ratings... it only says 4,105. I think you went over the upper limit! :P
I wish I had. But no! Wall-E is still beating me. The jerk. :P
Come on now.. 4mem8 is a great guy, but at least you finished yours and we are still finalizing the program for the Wall-E. But I think my Elvinator Project still has the most instruction on the site and I'll be adding to it very soon. Oh by the way I love your robot! or is it you I'm talking about haha just kidding. Jax
The jerk bit was only in jest. ;) The Wall-E ible is actually quite amazing. I can see why it's rated so high!
Yeah, saskview has (currently) the best instructable on the site!
I know it was, I just wanted to bust your bubble a bit. We do this all the time in good fun, so don't think we are mad or anything like that.. Like I said it's all in good fun and soon you will over take the Wall-E ible and be the Queen of views. Jax
Thank you so much for this instructable! I learned so much from it &amp; had loads of fun :). This is my adaptation of the plushie. Mr. Coffee (as I will call him) is actually a star in the Wrigley's Extra Commercial found in Australia (Link found here: <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.atwinthing.com/extradouble.html">http://www.atwinthing.com/extradouble.html</a> ). The artistic concept was created by (one of my favorite artists) Morten Rowley of Munkmotion&#8482; (If you ever read this Morten, ty &amp; &lt;3!) (Conceptual link found here: <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.munkmotion.com/ver4/projectsPage.php?id=00003&amp;img=00050">http://www.munkmotion.com/ver4/projectsPage.php?id=00003&amp;img=00050</a> )<br/>
Awww, that's so cute! You did a great job! :D
was your instructable the highest rated instructable on instructables?
Nope, I never got above Wall-E since it came before this one. But maybe one day. :D
Maybe... At least you are the second highest...
Pfft. Your plasma speaker is doing well! I need to take a picture while I'm still in second, haha!
Nope... My plasma speaker is doing very bad... :-( It has ratings of 3.89 now... And look on the ratings list, you will be very surprised...
What in the world is going on with the ratings? All of the ones that were the highest rated are still there, but now I'm #1, and there are four K-Nex instructables after mine, and then Wall-E and the Butler Robot, etc. Very, very weird. You were #3 just yesterday!
The site was probably hacked...<br/>But it is all fixed now. :-)<br/><br/>I think that was the strangest thing I ever saw on instructables... (I have seen other less strange things on instructables.)<br/>
I think I have an image of one of my ibles that are wierd... Lemme look. Found it. Sorry if my image is large, haven't seen it and don't know if it's edited
Holy s***! That is really weird...
Yeah. Me no comprehndo. It messed up the page too because numbers were going off screen.
Haha, yeah...
Now I&nbsp;need to learn how to sew even remotely well so he won't look like Frankenstein monster... :)<br /> <br /> Nice (informative and cute and cool) project.<br />
AWW! So cute!
super cute :)
SUPER WICKED! One of the BEST instructibles yet!
Thank you! :D
Okay, your instructable is the second highest rated... (Again) :-)
Very cute! (oh, yeah. the robot too :D)
Awwwwww :-)
I don't know about the robot, but the girl is pretty!
I'm pretty sure she is that girl from the TV show Blossom all growed up.
