Make Your Own Prescription Card and Save at the Pharmacy

Here is a quick and easy way to save some money at your local pharmacy without having to buy an Rx plan or signup for anything. Make one for yourself or friends and family.

There are quite a lot of free prescription discount cards available on the internet. This instructable shows you how to go about finding one that works well and saves a decent amount of money at your local pharmacy.

If you have access to the internet and a printer then you can have an active prescription card in hand by the time you finish reading this.

Step 1: Create the Card Online.

Fist of all there are many free Prescription cards online, some are better than others and I have tried a few. The one I have found that seems to work the best for me, is shown in this tutorial. However you can easily find one by searching for "United States Rx card" in any search engine. If you live in a different country, then alter your query accordingly.

Step one, Visit Free Rx Card to create your own prescription card. If the website prompts you for an access code, use "tb01" and you will be able to create your card. If this codes no longer works, then just "google" another one.

Step 2: Creating Your Free Prescription Card

Step 2: Enter in the information that you want on your free presciption card. Please note that the name on the card must match your own id, otherwise the pharmacy will not accept the card.
To continue click the button "Create my card now!".

Step 3: Print Out Your Card

Step 3: After clicking on the button from Step 2, you should now be looking at the online version of your Rx card. If you entered your email address during step 2, then you will also have a copy of the card in your email inbox. At this point you will need to print out a copy of your card onto a piece of paper so that you can use it at your local pharmacy. Note: The card can be printed in black and white instead of color.

Once the card is printed out, use a pair of scissors to cut out the card along the dotted lines. Then fold the card in the middle to form a two sided card.

Tip: If you plan to use the card more than once, you may want to use scotch tape or laminate it for better durability.

Step 4: Save Money at Your Local Pharmacy.

Step 4: Take the card to your local pharmacy and present the card when getting your prescription filled. See the suprised look on the pharmacist as you hand him/her your home made prescription card and smile when you see how much this printable card can actualy save you. Have fun with it.
