Make Your Own Radio Controled Airsoft Gun

How to modify a electric airsoft gun so that you can control it using a remote control

Step 1: Gather Materials

The things you will need for this project are:

Two servos

One Electric Air soft gun (any kind should work)

Some wire

A push button switch

An FM receiver, one that you can plug servos in to... not a radio

Some wood

Tape

Step 2: Modify Airsoft Gun

First open up your gun, there should be a few screws in the sides . Then once its opened, make a short between one of the battery terminals and the motor with the switch in between, be sure to leave a lot of wire before the switch. Next run the wire with the switch on it to the outside of the gun. Now you can put the cover back on the gun with the screws you removed. You can just barely see the wires inside my gun in the picture below.

Step 3: Build Base

This step can be done however you like because it will determine how the whole thing looks, but I will still post some instructions.

With the wood make two bases one bigger than the other. On the smaller of the two put two other pieces of wood on opposite sides going up perpendicular to the base. Next cut a few wooden spacer blocks to go between the bases.This may sound confusing but the pictures should help.

Step 4: Servos

Now for the servos, one of the servos will be used to rotate the base, while the other will be used to push a switch. First, the one that rotates the base.

This one is fairly self explanatory, just take your servo and in some way mount the turning head on the smaller base. I used a few screws to do this..

The second servo is a bit trickier. First you need to mount that switch that goes to the air soft gun on one of the pieces of wood that is perpendicular to the smaller base. Now comes the hard part. You have to mount the servo so that the turning head will turn and push the switch, this takes a few minutes of tweaking. (The tape might help with this)

Step 5: Mounting the Gun

Now you will need to mount the gun. I would suggest mounting it at a slight incline so that it will go farther. In order to mount my gun all did was take a metal bracket bend it into shape screw it onto the smaller base and then into the gun, this is all shown in the pictures.

Step 6: Mounting the Small Base on the Big Base

Now take the bigger base you made and screw all those extra wooden spacer blocks onto it. Then mount the servo that is already connected to the smaller base onto the larger base, if your smaller base is unstable or the servo is unstable I used a weight to balance my smaller base and some wire to keep the servo in place on the larger base.

Step 7: Hook It All Up

Now just connect your servos to the receiver, and your done! Your final product should look something like this..... I am not liable for any damage done with this product.
