Making head wraps

I made these head wraps for drying your hair. The materials I used were towel fabric, a short length of string, and a button. From a yard of fabric I was able to make four of them. You can modify them if you wish, the emasurements I used will fit most heads.

Step 1Get some Terry Towel Fabric

Get some Terry Towel Fabric
Buy some terry towel fabric, (or use an old towel) and fold fabric in half. The pattern should look like half of a teardrop. You need two of these to make the headwrap.

I made one of these out of a hand towel. I folded it lengthwise, and then cut out the shape. This eliminated the need for finishing the straight edges, was very inexpensive ( I picked up a towel at the dollar store), and also there was none of the mess that sewing terry usually makes!. I put my loop inside the towel before I sewed, eliminated one step. ( I used elastic, copying a turban I had bought). I actually find that I don't need the button, the elastic keeps the twisted towel in place.

Nice Instructable. It would be nice to see the completed head-wrap alone and being worn. It would make a nice intro picture.
