Introduction: Marbled Halloween Decor

My easy technique for making Halloween chic! Marbling made easy.

Step 1: Watch the Video Tutorial

Step 2: You'll Need

5" deep plastic bin

Pumpkins

Americana Gloss Enamel in Black

Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Carbon

Glass dishes

Krylon metallic gold spray paint

Rubbing alcohol

Paintbrushes

Step 3: Prepare Your Base Coat

Paint your pumpkins with the Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Carbon (black)

Clean your glass dishes with rubbing alcohol

Paint the dishes with the black Americana Gloss Enamel

Bake the glass dishes twice for 30 minutes letting the oven cool in between baking times

*This will make them dishwasher safe

Step 4: Spray and Marble

Fill your bin with water

Spray a small amount of Krylon metallic gold spray paint on top of the water

Quickly roll your object from one end of the water to the other to pick up the gold paint

Let everything dry on newspaper

Wow, this is such a cool way to get the marbled look! I've only ever seen it done using nail polish!

Nice! These are the kinds of Instructables that I like so much; they provide a lot of inspiration! (plus some know-how to save you from experimenting TOO much) : )

I am going to try this in some form or fashion for this year's ghoul trick o' treat extravaganza, but light them... I'll share the pics.

Beautiful! Does it have to be that brand of paint( i live in the UK) or can any brand of gloss be baked to make it DW safe??

Hi LadyEz, It does have to be the Americana Gloss Enamels. They are specifically for glass and with proper curing and baking they are dishwasher safe. Other gloss paints will not be.

That technique is amazing! I had no idea you could do that with spray paint. Also the glassware and pumpkins turned out so pretty! Thanks for sharing!

It's so fun to do and fail-safe. Unlike using nail polish which I find tedious and it almost never works.
