I have always been wary about practicing martial arts with real weapons! Very dangerous and prone to injuries. So I made a wood prototype to use. Here's how!

Choose your wood
Choose your wood. Hardwood are better for durability, but softwoods can be used too. Whatever you have available to you is OK. Hardwood are Hickory, Birch, Oak, Maple , Ash. Softwoods are Pine, Cedar, carving type Basswood, etc...

Thats a cool looking knife no matter what its made out of ! Ive made several knives from scrap oak and maple flooring, they dont take a cutting edge but do pass thru metal dectectors
