Great idea but seems like a lot of flaffing about. I bought my undecorated mask from www.justposhmasks.com and then all I needed to buy were the decorations

I like to make things and I like paper mache crafts. Making the mask allows it to look exactly how I want it. I did not have to worry about ridges on the face or if it was too big or the angle of the beak was not right. Its easier to control the look then using a blank.

Also cost wise it cost me just under $30 to make and decorate the mask. If I was to order a blank mask the blank would cost me $30 alone with out any supplies to decorate. And then I would have something that is not exactly what I wanted. For me this worked better a blank mask.

I didn't understand this part:
created a more pronounced ridge on the top of my beak my boiling water and newspaper together till it created a mushy pulp

Sorry my typo I boiled the paper and water togeather.

If you can get your hands on cello clay, or a like product(its basically just paper mulch and plaster of paris mixed togeather) and it is much easier and quicker. They usally sell it at hobby shops the sell train supplies. There was only one store in my city that stocked it and by then I already had my mask made.
