Made this set on the CNC for a friend so she can use it on Halloween and also for Comicon. Both are made with MDF, th swrod with two layers of 1/4" glued together and the shield a single 3/4" piece. They were both sanded down to the extreme, primered, painted, then clear coated several times to give them a very plastic like feel. The painting process alone took me two weeks. The shield has a handle and strap glued/screwd onto them so its wearable. This was a arduouse project due to its delicate nature, and the paint and what not cost me about $60 to produce. Not the most cheapest way, but can't get any better feeling than seeing a smile on a friends face from something you hand made! :)

Personally i thinkit looks great and my friend was overflowed with joy to receive it too. I will take any questions and comments!

Amazing project, but couldn't help noticing that the sword was for right-handed people. Link was left-handed in every game exept for the Zelda games on the wii, as most people are right-handed.

The sword is symmetrical, how is it right handed?

haha yeah, he meant it in reference to the shield because the shield occupies your left arm

Not sure what you mean by that. I guess if you account for the shield the sword is forced to be used on the right hand, but the sword itself is geometrically symmetrical so it can be used on both sides if used standalone.

However, i was unaware of that tidbit of information, Thanks for the interesting fact! Its just that i had to make it per my customer's request.

I've played to much Zelda to let it go unaware...

I indeed based the statement on the shield :c

These came out great! How much do they weigh?

Relatively light if i recall. Th swrod feels about 1~1.5 pounds and the shield around 3~3.5 pounds.
