Introduction: Mechanical Hand

I have punlished a full instructable of this project. You can view it here.

Measurements (By Request):
-The palm is 3/4" thick lumber, 4 3/4" width at its widest, 3" width at narrowest, ~4 1/2" long
-The fingers are 3/4" diameter dowel and 1" per segment
-The arm brace is 17" long total, 14 1/2" without the part attached to the palm, 2 3/4" wide and 5/16" thick

I wish I had seen this back in the early 80's when I was wanting to make an articulating skeletal hand for the Ghost of Christmas Future in our college's production of 'A Christmas Carol'! I was close to this same concept and trying to use drinking straws as the base to look like bones.

Can you post some macro pictures? like hinges or springs ot the fingers?

I will. I'm very slowly working on a full Instructable but I'm afraid it may be low on progress shots. Regardless, I will have some better macro shots of some of the elements.
