Step 2Break off the tip
The first thing to do is to break off the tip. I do this by pushing the tip down on a table while pulling the rest of the pencil up.
You will not need the tip for the shooter, so you can throw it away. It has a small spring inside if you want that, but otherwise it is not useful for much else.
