I bought these alphabet beads and I wanted to make something interesting with them, and i'm pleased with this necklace.

It's really fast and easy, it took me about 10minutes to make even with the beads refusing to be threaded on, so I hope you have a go :)

Step 1: What You Need

•waxed necklace cord in any colour. I used 1mm and I could only just fit the beads on, but I wouldn't have wanted any thinner for this. You might have bigger beads though, so you can use thicker if you want. (I got mine from amazon for about £1.50 each. You get about 9meters).

•alphabet beads. I got a packet for £1 from a craft shop so I don't think they're hard to find.

•jewellery endings. Not sure what they're called but those little metal things with a hook on the end. Also clasps and chain.

Step 2: Letters

I would recommend doing about 2-5 words, and try to choose phrases which don't have lots of filler words like "of" and "a" because they're very short but you would still need to cut a whole new string for them.

Pick out the letters you need and lay them out like in the picture.

Step 3: Thread

As I had 3 words, I needed 3 threads, but you need to do the amount of words that you have.

Cut each one a bit longer than the last so that the shortest one is just long enough to go around your neck like a choker. (Don't worry if you want it longer, thats what the chain is for. This is just to give the option of having it shorter)

Put all of them in a metal end and close it.

Step 4: Words

Thread the letter beads on in order so that the first word goes on the shortest thread and the last word goes on the longest thread. This means that when you wear it each word will hang a bit lower so you can read the message.

I also decided to put a pale pink glass seed bead in between as a spacer bead because I thought it looked nicer, but this is optional.

Step 5: Finishing

Put a metal end on the other side as well then put a clasp on one and a length of chain on the other. Wear your beautiful necklace and show it off!

The only thing is, make sure you put it on the right way or it will be written in mirror writing.
