Mexican Paper Flowers

These tissue paper flowers are lovely and exuberant, surprisingly easy to make, and infinitely customizable. I think I was taught how to make them in elementary school, but I had completely forgotten about them until a few years ago when I was getting ready for a party. After a few misfires, I got the hang of it again. 

Step 1: Materials

Materials:
6 Sheets tissue paper
1 Pipe cleaner
Scissors

I made some with toile fabric - creamy white with pale blue drawings - it was beautiful-very french looking. My granddaughter picked some batik and a sweet pink floral flannel fabric and those came out great too! It is a little more difficult to cut the ends, but can be done with patience.
