Introduction: Mickey Mouse Nail Art

About: I like to do nails (:

A fun tutorial to teach girls how to make their nails look twice as cute as Mickey Mouse himself!

Step 1: Step One: Getting Ready

Before starting ensure you have 4 different nail polish colors, a sharpie, a small stick (ex. toothpick) and tape. Any tape including scotch, duct, and electrical tape will work. Be sure you have the colors shown above if you want the nails to look as mine do. If you don't have certain colors or would prefer different colors, be sure to substitute accordingly. I chose to use black, red, white, and gold, as well as optional base/top coat clear nail polish.

Step 2: Step Two (Partly Optional): Remove and Apply

Remove all prior nail polish and then apply a clear base coat to nails. Applying clear base coat is optional but recommended. Wait 3-5 minutes for polish to dry completely.

Step 3: Step 3: Red and Ready!

Apply the red coat (or your red substitute color) to every nail except your pinkie nail as shown in the picture above. Apply second coat if needed. Wait at least 5 minutes to ensure your nails are dry. This is very important because if your nails are still wet then future steps will not work.

Step 4: Step 4: Tape It Up

Apply a piece of tape on your ring finger nail covering half of the nail.

Step 5: Step 5: Black Is the New Black

Use your black (or black substitute) nail polish to paint over the part of the ring finger nail not covered in tape.

Step 6: Step 6: Caution: Wet Nails

Remove tape when black (or black substitute) nail polish is almost fully dried or totally dried.

Step 7: Step 7: Sticks and Golds

I decided to use the end of a lollipop stick, but various other things such as toothpicks and bobby pins also work. Dip the tip of whatever you choose to use in the gold (or gold substitute) nail polish, making two dots on the red surface like the buttons on Mickey's pants.

Step 8: Step 8: As Good As Gold

While your gold or gold substitute is out, go ahead and paint your pinkie nail with the gold. Apply second coat if needed.

Step 9: Step 9: Sharpie Shapes

On your thumb, use the sharpie to carefully draw out Mickey's ears and face silhouette. Feel free to use reference.

Step 10: Step 10: Trace, Trace, Baby

"Trace" over the sharpie drawing with your small stick dipped in black nail polish.

Step 11: Step 11: Lotsa Dots'a!

Use your small stick to make dots on your pointer and middle finger nails in whatever pattern you choose.

Step 12: Step 12: Clean and Clear

Wait until totally dry and then put on an over coat if you'd like.

Step 13: Step 13: and That's What Makes You Beautiful!

And that's how it's done!!! Enjoy your nails!
