micro spud gun

A micro Spud Gun made from everyday objects! Safer and smaller than others around.

Step 1: Materials

Materials:

-2 Soda bottles. I used coca-cola but as long as the bottle necks are the same it's ok.
-2 Lids to fit the soda bottles with the blue seal intact.
-A short length of pressure PVC pipe. This holds a large amount of pressure and fits very tightly with a friction fit inside of a bottle neck.
-A preferably non-brittle pen.
-Piezo electric sparker. Can be found in some lighters, BBQ lighters etc. Just need the kind with the brass contact and a single thin wire.
-Flexible PVC/plumbers' tape.

Tools:

-Hot glue/hot melt gun and cartridges/glue sticks.
-A drill or a very sharp knife, but the drill is highly reccomended.
-Exacto/hobby knife. Any sharp knife will do.
-Sandpaper/emery paper or a smooth file.
-Various drillbits.
-Hacksaw, preferably with a fresh blade.

Expendable:

-Propellant: Deoderant/cologne, butane, propane, hair spray etc. Do not use fuels such as petrol, LPG, diesel or higher combustion gasses such as hydrogen.
-Ammunition: Spit wads, potato pieces, Q-Tips, whatever you use.

Optional:

-Acetone and a rag to apply it with. Be very careful with this. The fumes are terrible and try not to get it on your skin (though it removes a lot of glues).

I made my own design after looking at the main picture. I use lighter fluid and a rifled tube. It shoots a jet of flame when it fires. It fires Qtips, paper, and potato. Picture coming soon.

I made one but i the spark from the sparker doesn't light the spray. Itried seversl different kinds but it still didn't work. 
Anybody have answers??

i had the same problem. but i found out how to fix it. you need the right amount of fuel. i used gas from a lighter. hold the button down and aim the gas in the container. first try holding it down for 1 second. if it dont work then try 2 seconds. keep doing this until you get a result. remember to shake the mini cannon once you have put gas in it and put on the cap. hope it helps. =]

This is the best gun me and my friend have ever made! Thanks for the idea! And to bluebox: Use a small amount of ignition, just a quick spray, and from about 2 and a half inches away. (i reccomend using axe deoderant).

i cant find this size of pipe i had a pipe that i think is 3/4 inch or 1 inch thats one of the most common sizes im thinking of just gluing the bottlemouths together with hot glue could this pose a problem even if its a good tight fit?

some ammunition suggestions: tic-tacs airsoft pellets small nails (do not aim at living things!!) the lid of the pen put on the barrel loosened.

mine is very loud when you fire tiny chunks of potatoes it makes a BANG and sprays potato juice everywhere.

Yeh, though if you look at my newer mini spud gun propane/butane works better. A syringe can be used to get the ideal amount. If you can make an appropriate chamber then fuels such as oxy-hydrogen and acetylene give massive power, but I don't recommend it.

This is a cool little idea. Im scaling down from the big guns. made a bazooka like one and got into a littleee trouble heh heh. great for annoying ppl at work. a good little pocket fuel is the axe bullet or binaca spray!

if i remember correctly, 15mm. This was from aus. though so other countries might be different. If you want, just get a coke bottle and find the pipe that fits inside it.

Im also in aus (newie, NSW) And i can't get the stuff no more... sucks cause bunnings stopped ordering it 2 years ago and it just ran out!

if you are in the US, then try 1/2 inch pipe. you might want to use some epoxy to hold it on though, because it' not a tight fit.
