Microwave Cake in a Mug!!

Introduction: Microwave Cake in a Mug!!

This is my first instructable so please don't hate Also tell me how I could improve my instructable please

Step 1: Ingredients

Here's what you need to get started! mug (duh) , fork, measuring spoons, flour (4tbsp), hot cocoa mix (5-6 tbsp), vanilla extract (1/4 tsp), water (3 tbsp), oil (2 tbsp),

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

Mix 5-6 tbsp hot cocoa mix with 4 tbsp flour in the mug. Make sure you mix them completely so they are evenly mixed together. Note: I'm using chocolate cupcake mix because I ran out of hot cocoa mix so that's why I have a big bag in the picture.

Step 3: Mix in the Wet Ingredients

Add 3 tbsp water, 2 tbsp oil, and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until there are no clumps or dry spots on top.

Step 4: Microwave

Microwave the batter and the mug for 1 minute for fluffy moist cake. ( add or subtract time if you don't want this consistency of cake, pretty muck self explanatory )

Step 5: Enjoy!

Let cool until you can eat it and for an even better cake top it with whipped cream, powdered sugar, ice cream, or whatever you can think of!

Mmmm I am eating it right now! I substituted the water for milk, and it turned out great too! You could list all the ingredients and steps at the end so that you don't have to scroll with the pictures to follow the recipe. Thanks for sharing it!

I made this last night and tonight I am making it again with a touch of cinnamon and some chocolate chips! It was so awesome!

Yo, this is great!

Umm loved it just that it makes alot less than it looks i would 2x the recipe to make a half mug 3x to fill the mug mostly other than that its awesome thnx @AllieCat0108

you fill cake or cupcake bins only halfway because they expand to 2-3x their size once cooked. You only need 1/3 a cup for it to fill up to nearly the top.

I failed at the cooked result, but daaaaamn, DAT DOUGH!

Good Recipe. Brownies are delicious at all hours.

By using cake mix, you added baking soda and/or baking powder and made it rise. I made this using all-purpose wheat flour and hot cocoa mix with sugar, and the mixture did not rise. I believe a pinch (<1/8 tsp) of baking powder would have made a difference. Your "self rising flour" in the ingredients images also suggests baking soda or baking powder is included.

Great job! Not a bad 'able, whether it's your first one or you're an old pro. Keep up the good work! :-)

Thank you for solving my midnight snack problem :D

Great first Instructable!
Great pictures and short and you get to the point!
Make more!! Instructables, that is!

This cake is smashing! Thanks for sharing!

OMG! Good quick cake for someone who doesn't have energy to prepare full size. I have Fibromyalgia so standing for long periods of time is out. This didnt take long & was yummy. I used wheat flour/almond flour mix, and Splenda & cocoa for the cocoa mix. Worked great! Added chocolate frosting on top!

Thank you oldmicah for commenting and when you said you would like to see the ingredients each on their own line I am assuming you are talking about the words on step one well I tried to do that but when I posted it they squished together on the same lines so I edited it afterwards by putting commas next to each of them so they weren't as crowded because I like to have them on their own line too. :)

Nicely done! The only feedback I have is that I would like to have seen the ingredients each on their own line. (That's my bias toward cookbook style recipes). It looks pretty darn good and you can't complain about the time it takes. Thanks for the instructable.
