Introduction: Microwave Potato

Microwaving a potato is easier than having to place it in the oven and having to wait.; all this process takes is a few easy and fast steps, which will then lead to a warm and delicious potato.

The equipment that will be need is a sink and a microwave.

Step 1: Materials

The materials that will be needed for this process are a potato, paper towels, and a fork/icepick.

Step 2: First Step

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the excess dirt on the potato, so wash it off in the sink. Once you are finished washing the potato dry it off with a paper towel.

Step 3: Step Two

Hold the clean, dry potato firmly in your hand, take the fork/icepick and poke holes in the potato in random areas, (do this step cautiously so you will not harm yourself.)

Step 4: Step Three

For a regular sized baking potato place it in the microwave for five minutes, and if the potato is still firm to the touch after the five minutes then place it back in the microwave for about two more minutes, but watch it closely. If the potato is soft, then that means it is done. For smaller baking potatoes, place it in the microwave for only two to three minutes, watch closely because smaller potatoes cook faster.

**Potatoes will become hard, and dry if they are in the microwave for too long.**

Step 5: Step Four

When taking the potatoes out of the microwave be very careful because they will be very hot. Now you can enjoy your microwaved baked potato!
