Introduction: Milk Tea

Milk tea is a very sweet tea that is often used in Boba. Boba is a drink consisting of tea and balls of tapioca and honey. This instructable, however, will only tell you how to make the tea. I will hopefully update it as soon as I can procure adequate tapioca balls to make the boba.

You can find some supplies such as flavor powders and tapioca balls at the Bubble Tea Supply website.

Step 1: Gather Materials

For this instructable you will need the following:
-3/4 Black Tea
-5 Tablespoons of Sugar Syrup (More or less to taste)
-A Little Less than 2 Cups of Ice Cubes
-1/2 Cup of Milk (More or less to taste)
-A blender
-Various Measuring Utensils

For the sugar syrup you will need 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of white and 1/2 cup of brown sugar.

Do not worry, I will tell you how to make the sugar syrup.

Step 2: Make the Sugar Syrup

Sugar syrup is what sets milk tea apart from black tea with milk. This step should be done first, as it will take a long time to complete.

-Boil 1 cup of water in a pan (yes, a pan).
-Add 1/2 cup of white and 1/2 cup of brown sugar (You can experiment with ratios).
-Turn the temperature to low and allow it to cook until all the sugar crystals have dissolved, gently stirring every few minutes. It should take about 25 minutes until the sugar has fully dissolved.
-Put the sugar syrup into a cup and put it in the fridge for later.

I suggest doubling the recipe, as this will only make about 4 servings of tea.

Step 3: Make the Black Tea

This step is pretty easy, just make some tea.

-Boil 3/4 cup of water in a kettle.
-Put two bags of black tea into the cup (you can put one if you don't want too much tea flavour).
-Steep the tea for about 2 minutes.

Step 4: Mix the Ingredients

This is the second to last step (kinda).

-Mix the milk and ice into the blender.
-Pour in the black tea from the previous step.
-Put in 5 tablespoons of sugar syrup (experiment with this, you may think it is too sweet, or vice versa).
-Blend until it is a smooth texture, with few pieces of ice left.

Step 5: Enjoy!

You have successfully made a delicious beverage! Unless you failed.... then you didn't successfully make a delicious beverage. You may now drink and enjoy this light brown and oh-so-delicious beverage.
