Step 8: On to the X-Wing!

Now on the the X-Wing, which I assure you is much simpler. Start off by splitting two door panels at the point shown in the picture. Make sure to split it at the right end of the small strip, as these will be important. Remove the rest of the panel as shown.

On one of the two door panels you will need to remove the entire lower strut. Again, this is a lot easier if you start by splitting the sides and then bending over the center.

hey, I dislike you too! (being 100% positive)

Lol, as long as you're positive about it.

i also like how you refer to the multi-tool as 'back-up.'

Thank you, and for your other comments as well!
Awesome and love the humor thrown in. Definitely getting a vote here.
Thank you! I think when you make folk art from floppy disks the humor comes on it's own.

so true

Dude I want to make my Death Star to scale, any idea how many rubber bands I'll need?
depends to scale will be selected i guess
Five more than you have in your drawer I would guess...

I went with the premade rubber band ball which seems about the right scale to teh floppy disk hub.

if it were 5 more than in my drawer, that would be... about 1,347 rubber bands without the 5 more. (and sill counting!)

Very nice,
And thank you for making me feel old ( joking!) , I will now assume the fetal position and whimper for the rest of the evening. :) :( :)
We can have an old-off. Winner gets to experience the ravages of time. Thanks for the support!

an OLD-OFF! good one, man! you are absolutely brilliant!

thank you for this instructable, here are mine, including the death star :)
Thank you! How clever with the Death Star! Those are very nicely done!
You used Shiny....could that mean a Firefly is coming?
...and here is your Firefly:
https://www.instructables.com/id/Firefly-Class-Starship-and-Random-MQ-1-Predator-/
You're reading far too much into it. I meant it was shiney as in metal. I hadn't planned on any more.

I do love Firefly...

I think you could modify advanced version the X-Wing lower panel to make a Firefly...so we'll see.
Very nice and very funny! Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
HAHAHAHAHA! I reposted this to my crafting group. We are a group of crazy fantasy/SF Tolkien, Lewis, Star Trek, Star Wars and everything in between crazies!

http://mymiddle-earth.net/groups/crafters-of-the-knittermark/forum/topic/patterns/?#post-762

I will most likely be posting your stuff again, quite creative.
Thank you! There is my other posting also with the Imperial Shuttle, TIE Fighter, and Borg Cube.
Very cool Ible! I like how you used a rubber band ball for the Death Star.
-BLUEBLOBS2
That's good to hear! In my last Ible someone asked if I could do a Death Star. I wasn't sure how the model would go over but I'm glad I put it in.
Two thumbs WAY up!
Thank you!
