Mini Air Cannon

I built this as a present that I made for a friend. It is just another small air cannon for marshmallows. It only cost me about $15.00 but I already had the valve. And, yes I know that I could use a sprinkler valve or a piston valve but I was on a tight budget. Step 1 ***Disclaimer***

I am not responsible for any injury or damage caused by this cannon. PVC pipe is not meant for Pressure. Don't pressurize this cannon past 45psi. Never shoot in temperatures above 100 degrees or below 35 degrees at this point, the pipe will become brittle and and will cause damage to the air chamber. DO NOT shoot at people or animals or anything of value.

that doesent look like a PVC barrel. i would replace it with a better one that doesent have a chance of exploding

The barrel is actually made of Schedule 80 PVC, which is thicker than the standard schedule 40 PVC and a better size for the projectiles. It looks different but it is stronger and has threads built into the ends so I wouldn't need and adapter.

Yeah that would be pretty cool, or shooting water at it to put it out really fast. Thanks that is a good idea I am going camping this weekend I might try it!

haha if you shoot water it vaporizes into a mist. also u said its not that powerful lol. if you put gobstoppers (mini jawbreakers) into it they are freaking insane it could go through plywood if it didn't shatter first. and also i got shot in the nuts but a tissue and it hurts like a paintball gun. DO NOT DOUBT THIS CANNON!!!

for this to work best put some wadding down the barrel then your projetcile the speed of it will go way up and so will the danger :)

This cannon is awesome. It is fun to shoot popcorn kernels at stuff.

Thanks, I know what you mean. They are a lot of fun to shoot but building them is my favorite part. I Just finnished my last one yesterday, and its on my website. I will try to get a slide show of it on instructables pretty soon

True but if it leaked it would burn a hole through whatever you shot it at.

Yeah I guess that would be pretty cool. But I don't think it would be very fun to clean up.

If a battery blew up it would at least 'look cool.'

Yeah, but it would most likley rip a large hole in the case surrounding the battery causing a leak rather than an explosion.
