Mint Box Audio Selector: 3.5mm audio switch by r00tdemon

Step 6: Improvements and more.

Here are some ideas on how to improve or expand this handy device.
With more switches and audio jacks its possible to expand this for more inputs/outputs where each additional switch adds room for one more connector.

A larger switch with 3 poles instead of two and some spare audio cord may help to reduce any signal degradation.

Connecting the center leads of two switches will allow selection of multiple inputs as well as outputs.

If your wire is more flexible or your confident with your skills you can connect a single wire from each connector directly to the switch eliminating that center soldering point.

All comments and suggestions welcome.

Awesome instructable, I'm excited to build one of these guys but the improvements section on step 6 got me curious, specifically, the ability to add more selectable inputs and outputs. If I connected the center leads of two switches, how would that change the operation of this device and what would the wiring diagram look like? Thanks for the great tutorial and any future information.

connecting the center leads of the two switches would allow you to have 2 inputs as well as 2 outputs.

True, but don't turn both inputs on at the same time, or you could get some interesting results. (Unless i'm mistaken about how you selected, in which case, please correct me)

would you mind drawing out a wiring diagram for this?
