Step 4Modding the Body
In this step, we're going to cut a bit of the plastic out of the body of the front of the gun. But first, check the insides of the body pieces before you mark where to cut. You should see two black rubber feet. Leave these in. What these do (I later found out) is nullify the vibrations caused by the motors. Without them, the gun gets really loud.
Now find a marker or a Sharpie and mark where you're going to cut. To do this, try to imagine where the darts would touch the surface of the body if they were pulled out of their holes and rotated. This is our "channel" that we are going to cut for the darts to travel in and out of the gun. The reason we're cutting on BOTH sides of the firing hole is so that darts the didn't fire can exit and re-enter the gun.
Are you ready? If you've marked where you plan to cut, then you're ready. Fit the Dremel with a cutting disk and fire it up. Carefully, cut out the plastic. Make sure that when you've finished cutting, that you pull away all of the "blobs" of melted and cooled plastic from the edges (you can simply pull them off with your fingers). Hold it together and hold it against the gun. Put a dart in (not all the way), and spin the revolving barrel. Does it still travel through? If so, you're done.
Before you put the gun back together, is there anything else you want to cut a hole for? Maybe a hole for a white LED or a switch in the handle? No? Well, then it's time to put it back together!
Proceed to the next step.
