Step 1: Conserve your gasoline

Since the price of gas is at an all time high, here are a few steps that I use while I am driving to save and improve my Miles Per Gallon(MPG). The first is to NOT accelerate down any hills just roll down them you will pick up enough speed and use less gas because your engine is doing little to no work. Also try to keep a very steady pace(by not braking or accelerating) just try and glide along at the same speed this also improves your MPG.

What supermarket or other store is giving 5 cents a can?

Some states (like Oregon, where I live) have a bottle refund system. So you pay 5 cents per can or bottle, and when you recycle it, you get the money back. Or someone else picks up after you and they get the money back!

not all states have the 5 cent refund... we have to go to a recycling center and have them weighed... last time I checked it was just above 50 cents a pound... a pound is like 30 cans or so.

Tip on collecting bags of cans: crush them first. Then you waste less on bags and you pack more cans into a bag. Second, re-use the boxes the cans came in.

I think you mean "$10 a month" in step 3. Saving $10 a gallon would involve you getting paid $6 to buy a gallon...
