Your Finger is a Red Gel
To light your subject in red, just put your finger over the flash.
The blood in your finger will tint the light red.
Star showed me this trick.
Her finger-light is a lot redder than mine. I must be anemic.

Your anemia comment reminds me that this is basically how those finger-clamp blood oxygen meters in hospitals work, which means that if you ever need to check someone for anemia and all you have is a bright light, this might work. Not sure when this'll ever come in handy, which means within the week.

I would be careful doing this though. I have done it in the past and It actually blew the bulb in the flash and burned my finger due to the heat of the flash being blocked inside the flash compartment.

I've done this, accidentally and intentionally. The flatmates called it a blood filter. Never gotten a hot finger, but mine probably don't block much light.
