Step 38Scaregeese

Scaregeese
When I first saw these cardboard coyotes there were no geese in the field and lots of geese in the rest of the fields. The groundskeeper told me they'd put them up after re-doing the field and it had worked like a charm.

I came back a few days later to take these pictures after a big storm and here's what I found.
After they blew down in the storm they didn't scare the geese anymore.

So make sure yours are solid enough to impress the geese with how they stand up to storms.

Apparently if you spray them with actual coyote urine they work even better.

lol whenever i go camping i almost always urinate around the perimeter  of our little campsites in small patches to keep raccoons and stuff out of our camp. it seems to always work thankfully!

Have you considered putting this on some kind of base that's free to rotate (i.e. wind vane) so a breeze will change the view or imply motion? I wonder if a "lazy susan" or some other device might let them reposition themselves. good stuff! keep it up?

Maybe it wasn't because of storms. Maybe geese just got used to them. They found out that coyotes aren't moving all day.

its the same with plastic snakes, you put them out and they keep birds away but if you leave them there for to long the birds realize that their not real and just come back
