This is the Mosin Nagant, a russian rifle used mainly during WW1 and WW2.

I love the looks, feel and size of this gun! I built it and I have to say, it's quite an oddly built gun; however it is quite strong. The end of the barrel is quite flimsy though. I was a few pieces short, so I had to modify it a little bit. The internal barrel didn't work very efficiently and the trigger wasn't great. The 'bullets' didn't have enough power behind them to even make it out of the end of the gun. But the looks and feel of the gun make up for it as a model. 3.5/5!

i realise you prolly didnt right on the picture of the real one but that isnt a bayonet mount on real nagants the bayonet goes on the barrel its just a spike(looks alot like a flat head screwdriver)

in the real one, the mag drops in from the top, like those lee-enfields used in the first world war. in this one you just put the rods in thru the bottom.

Guns allways look bad when they have a large mag pusher sticking out. I can't remember who, but for their mag, they had a large bendy rod pushing the bullets up. clever idea!

you say thats a flaw, but i think its not... a real bolt is practically impossible in knex, or at least a knex gun with a firing pin...

a lot of people have described a bolt action as having two pins... one the firing pin and one loading the bullets into the firing line... however when you look at any real bolt action gun's mechanism, you'll find that it actually has to cast the cartirdge away, and it does that when it twists... when it is pushed back it loads a bullet into the firing line...

because of the angles and shapes at which these pieces work, it would litterally be impossible to make one out of knex... at least in the way a normal gun works...


also, you base your ratings by a typo?

in fact it is often called simply the M91/30

however i can see other people getting confused about that...

its just the bolt you can pull it leave it and fire or you can pull it push it back and it will fire either way works. it takes :
4 half moons
2 grey connectors
and 2 white rods

That looks cool, but i don't like the handle, and the barrel looks slightly too big, otherwise great!

However, other members might start to hate you. Because you make models - non firing guns, people like the fact thats its a real gun, not just a toy.

It seems easy to incorporate a slingshot mech on your gun. You could try kat's mech or Killerk's.

if you don't know how to, try look for someone elses guns (that shoot of course) and build them

If you like replicas (like me... well of course you like replicas, lol) then look at trauts' guns here: http://www.instructables.com/member/Trauts/ ).

Look at the trigger, and look at how you could do the same sort of thing (stopping the firing pin from going forward), then once you get the mech, you just build the gun around it.

I recommend trauts G36c, to build.

After sitting down and concetrating on just the gun I built the entire gun in about 2 1/2 hours and I also had created my own modification that connects to the ram rod to make it look more like a bolt action rife all around awesome gun once done I love how realistic it is. I hung mine from my wall I love it so much.

Attention to detail is all it is... To make a good replica, you have to be able to see all the nooks and crannies of the real gun, and you have to capture them in your gun you did quite well with your garand... Alas it didn't fire :(

the mag is still, meaning it is an ammunition holster. that is what the mosin had. you push the bullets down, and when you repeat the action 1 bullet is launched out of the holster, and the action.

the annoying thing is, i started doing a piece count yesterday, but i got mixed up just before the middle. i think there is around 10-20 Y connectors, but if that doesn't worry you, then you'll have enough pieces. or better yet, waits till tomorrow, im gonna remake the rifle, thenmake a better scope, and then i'll break it up and do a piece count for you.

i made it today and it works fine, used 14 y connecctors leaving out 2 in the mag and some other unimportant areas, range is a little low tho, shooting only 5-6 feet using loads of bands, love the look tho

hmm. what type of elastics did you use? for my sniper, i can get it to shoot 80+ feet and i use only two elastics!!! It's supposed to be a L96A1 sniper. it is so powerful. i use the latex free blue rubberbands. those are the best ones i could find that aren't too large.

Really..... interesting. Son on a sniper, if the barrel size is smaller, then it will have a larger range? I guess for a sniper, people want accuracy that comes with a long barrel. I'm creating a sniper, but i can't get the barrel to work properly. Let me describe what is happening. I put a yellow rod into the barrel, but the bullet barely shoots out. however, when i drop the bullet in through the barrel end in the front, and i stop the bullet at the point where the mag pusher is, it shoots crazy far! For that, i moved the firing pin back a little so that it would have more space to gather force, but that made it worse!!!!!!!!!!! Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you using Decapitated greys instead of tan clips? if not then thats your problem. also the mag pusher maybe putting stress on the bullet ( it needs to be free, so either weaken the rubber band, or try using a different size mag (white rods are probably the best cause they have enough room to be freed up, but not too much)

I removed the fron part of my barrel and put it together on another grey rod. It turn out that the grey rod was so slighttly bent, that the holes on the red connectors were not properly aligned. Such a small difference that you can't see it, but it was there. The yellow rods fire better now, but not the carboard piercing speed i'm looking for.

a grey connector, thats had half the hole cut off, it makes it a lot smoother, and you'll notice that your tan connectors are actually a tiny bit higher on the top, than the rest of the tube of holes. i mostly play on CoD: Waw (ps3) and i come on 'ibles at randomn times (mostly about now, and 4 hours ago.

yeah, your problem maybe the mage that you are using (use a standard one) or the tan clips. I'll show you that the tan clips are not very good: get a yellow rod and add two tan clips. add any two connectors that have the holes in the middle, and shift them so they are together, stick a blue rod through the holes and you should see a gap between the rod and the tan clips. if you have cut greys instead of tan clips everything is so much easier.

I just reallized, a better one would be those almost fully round connectors. Cut out that half circle part in the middle, and it would form a chamber in it. awesome! this gun really wasn't meant for shooting, its meant to show off what beautiful things you can make. if you do make this, make sure you make the barrel evenly (not what i did) but it really doesn't matter.

I find that the best "bullets" are the blue or yello ones for a pisol or rifle. The grey ones are the best for a sniper because they are the most accurate up to a certain point, and travel farther. the reason is because the Blue, yellow ones weigh nore than the white ones, so the white ones are like pellets, and don't travel as far. the only problem with the grey rods are that since they are so long, they twist around in the air. Just a reccomendation, but try the gun out with blue or yello bullets, i'm sure it will fire farther.

flaming dogs that spawn in the middle of zombie rounds on higher rounds.

the monkey bomb that distracts zombies then blows up and kills quite a few. (gives you enough time to revive a friend)

teleporters that i don't use lol

the pack-a-punch machine that upgrades your weapons! ITS AWSOME!! (you can see i have the upgraded weapons on the video)

the bowie knife that can kill zombies in 1 or 2 hits

Ive got it, and it is legend. You know i said about my new knife. *Bowie Knife, complete with nuckleduster, and a strap that means you can let go of it, and then use both hands to reloade/cock/uncock your gun. The knuckle duster should do more damage than the blade, but you can swing the blade with much more power. The blade is heavy and resembles less of a blade and more of a battering ram.

for my suggestions for other guns in need of replication, i have found several that have either not have been made well or at all. First, i have one from the tv show firefly. firefly This one is the wookie bowcaster from starwars bowcaster if this could be made like it is in starwars battlefront where it can shoot multiple bullets in a spread fashion, it would be awesome. Third is the m96 m96 Next is my personal favorite, the german stg44 This one is an oicw which would be amazing if a grenade launcher could be incorporated like it is in real life. The m3 grease gun grease gun The HK94 would be a grand rendition to the knex arsenal. Another imperfect knex gun is the p90 Lastly, is the mg42 which would be the king of the belt-fed knex guns. If anyone can build an accurate model of any of the guns mentioned here, it would be appreciated

The nagant is one of my favorite rifles, and for only 75 dollars, it's a keeper. Looks like you got the stock down pretty well, but the mechanism is nothing new. And is that a bottom loading mag? I am ashamed. Should be top-loading, non-removable and clip fed. Pretty good.

Nearly all guns have a trigger like that, but some don't, hence the "nearly all guns" part =D!

I know its not a block... No one said it was, lol. It was the fact you said twist, twist most commonly means trist aroud, such as clockwise. If indeed the trigger is pulled towards yourself, then there is nothing wrong with the trigger pull.
