Motion activated "Attack Creeper"

In January I decided that I needed to upgrade my in-home security. Unfortunately for me my building does not allow dogs so a big scary animal was not an option. Then suddenly, inspiration struck or I guess you could say exploded.

The most logical option was obviously to create a near life size Arduino powered, motion activated, audio playing, remote controllable Minecraft Creeper. Obviously.

Step 1: Check your chest for required inventory

As always this started with a fairly lengthy list of relatively inexpensive supplies. Here's the most complete list I can compile from memory. The electronics

Arduino UNO (all good projects start with an Arduino)
Ada Fruit Wave Shield (for audio playback with the Arduino)
Electric Sumo CMoy Amp (I wanted to build one of these anyway so I picked it up for the project)
Cheap RC Car (I picked mine up for $15 at the drug store)
PIR Sensor
Speaker (mine came with my Wave Shield kit)
Various bits of wire
Batteries, lots and lots of batteries
Something to power the Arduino (I used a Minty Boost also from Adafruit)

And the crafty bits

Cardboard boxes
Paint
Hot glue (I used the normal stuff to hold the electronics in place and some heavy duty pull-the-skin-off-your-hands industrial stuff to hold the boxes together
Masking or painters tape
zip ties/cable ties

Nice instructable! I repurposed your code for my own project. I tried other sketches that did similar things but all failed to compile. Yours compiled without a hitch.

My question is do you know how to get a random wave function working with your sketch?

I've tried random seed but it fails to compile. Maybe I'm missing something or using it wrong.

hey, nice job dude but i think this could be sooo much better. add a louder sssssss noise, make the colors so that the holes blend with the black on the skin, make the actual feet shapes and have the wheels have longer joints(?), and finally make the car go a little slower. these are just constructive ideas

That could be done if you included a camera and coded it to follow an object set up servos to turn the controller so does follow the person, after it gets within 2 feet of the camera it activates the explosion and stops moving. to add effect it could have a small confetti cannon on its head thats hidden and when the explode sound goes off it will shoot the confetti.

Is that just regular brown packing tape you used to seal the boxes closed or is it some ultra high grade tape?

Plain old packing tape. The hot glue however was some high strength hot glue from McMaster Carr. It's really really strong. I can pick up the Creeper by the head and hold the body horizontal to the ground without it flexing or bending. Really nice stuff.

It is! My little (best ever) sister made me a clay creeper for my birthday! I used the face as a reference for painting the big one.

how much would you charge for me if you made me one of these because i wanna make a clap trap (from borederlands) and i wanna have it so when people walk by him he talks and stuff but i dont know like what do do so how much would it cost oh and i was wondering if you could make it so he has like a few diferent play back thingys please respond
