Introduction: Motorcycle Rear Rack

Here is a simple luggage rack i made for my CB500f. It utilizes the pillion grips and cost roughly 10 bucks. I am still testing it, but so far it holds up.

Step 1: Materials Needed

Materials needed:

Welder

2 pieces of steel strut(unistrut) that are 2 feet long, 14 gauge steel, predrilled holes

u clamps

Misc. hardware as needed for mounting things to it

Step 2: Cut Strut

Simple. cut strut in half, you should have 4 pieces that are roughly 1 foot long.

Step 3: Arranging

Line up pieces side by side, like in the PDF.

Step 4: Welding

Weld the pieces together

I'm a horrible welder!!!

Please weld better when you are making this

Step 5: Attach to Motorcycle

ok, to attach to motorcycle, i used u clamps, to attach it to the pillion grips.

Step 6: Done

Thats it! You can paint it like mine, to match the bike

With this base I attached a top case by bolting it to the unistrut. the strut also gives you great points to strap done gear.

Again I will update if I have any failures.
