Step 6Thread the pen
Push the string into the pen and get it out one of the sides. I pushed it in and blew on one end, then jammed then ink part I'd removed earlier in, cussed at it a bit and then did it some more. Eventually, when the string is through the pen, tie something to the other end. This one is with a small piece of a toothpick. A simple knot would probably do in most cases, but my thread was a bit thin. Pull it back through and make sure the knot/object stops against the other side of the hole.

I just put the string in the hole in the middle of the pen, then used an unrolled paper clip to pull it through.

Ok my mother-in-law is brilliant!! I was trying hard to thread the string and get it to go the way I wanted without cussing...it was hard. She asked if I needed a piece of her floral wire to tie the string to and then I could work it through the hole the way I wanted. It worked PERFEFT....I even just clipped off the remaining wire and used that to anchor the string in the pen. Mother-in-laws can be good for several things!!! This saved me a ton of heartache and soap mouthwash.

i did the opposite effect of what most people try first... i put the string in the whole thats in the middle of the pen thingy and i kept blowing on one side of it until it went all the way through.... no cussing at all O:)
