As I mention earlier, I reuse some wine corks to keep the guitars from slide (4" between each cork)., I drill the corks and use drywall screws to attach them to the top. I drive the screws 1/2 way deep in the corks.
Eventually I will put some foam or some type of cloth to the top piece to avoid scratches in my guitars. The corks are holding pretty well, but i may change them later for something else.
