This garland is easy, fun, and quick to make.

You can also do this with scrapbook paper or even fabric!

For this instructable, I will show you how I made these recycling old music books from middle school.

Step 1: Gather Materials

- Cricut (or you can cut them out by hand using a stencil and some scissors)
- Hole Punch
- Music Note Sheets
- Glue Stick
- Ribbon - 1/8"
- Small Safety Pins (to attach to tablecloth)

Step 2: Glue Music Note Sheets Together

To give the garland a very professional, finished look, you will want it to be double-sided. My music note sheets were single-sided, so I had to glue the sheets together. Make sure you glue the ENTIRE sheet to the other sheet, not just the edges. If you don't, they will come apart when you cut out the shape because the glue will dry, and crack while cutting, and fall apart.

Step 3: Cut Out Hearts With Cricut

--- Using a Cricut ---
I used Sure Cuts A Lot software (You can purchase the software here) to cut out my heart shapes on a Cricut. It even cut out the hole punches for me! To use my template for 8.5" x 11" sheets, please go here to download my 'sure cuts a lot' heart template. You could alternatively pick any heart shape on your favorite cartridge, or any shape for that matter.

--- Without a Cricut ---
If you are not using a Cricut, here is my heart stencil with hole punch marks. Transfer the heart shape and the holes onto heavier paper, so you can use it the stencil again and again!

Once you've made your stencil, trace the stencil onto your paper or fabric that you're using, and gather your groomsmen and bridesmaids to help cut them out and hole punch.

Step 4: Weave the Ribbon Through the Hearts

Take your ribbon (I used 1/8") and weave the ribbon in and out of the hole punches of each heart.

You can choose to have the ribbon show in front, or not. I personally liked the ribbon showing in the front. You can simply flip the garland if you change your mind - because it is double sided!

Step 5: Attach the Garland to the Tablecloth

I used safety pins to attach the garland. To hide the safety pins, safety pin underneath the tablecloth.

To drape the garland evenly over the whole table:
Be sure to measure the table, the ribbon length, and the number of hearts you want in each drape and use your math skills!
