Not everyone is blessed with the gift of being able to grow luxurious facial hair. With a little black nail polish you can add your favorite style of soup strainer to a mirror and make your 'stached wishes come true.

You'll Need. . .
  • A mirror - pocket mirror is used here for a glorious pocket 'stache but you could use the same technique on a bathroom or whatever other mirror you'd like (just remember they're pretty permanent)
  • Black nail polish (or another color if you'd like)
  • Adhesive label larger than your mustache image
  • An image of your favorite mustache style (a few examples are provided here)
  • Scissors or an Exacto knife
How To
  1. Select your mustache style and size your image appropriately for your mirror. I'm using a 4" compact mirror here, so the mustaches need to be smaller because the reflection of someone's face will be smaller. If you were using a larger mirror, you would want to make larger 'staches
  2. Print the image on your adhesive label
  3. Cut out the mustache portion to create a stencil
  4. Position the stencil on your mirror and stick it in place
  5. Apply nail polish in a few thin coats, letting each dry before applying the next
  6. Carefully remove the stencil and allow the 'stache to dry
  7. Gaze lovingly into the mirror and behold your newly mustachioed self

I'm in the US Coast Guard and I like to grow a mustache every time we go underway. I made one for my locker onboard my cutter to remind me not to shave it.

Hey I thought you'd might like to hear this but your project inspired me and my friends to all wear mustaches at school on Halloween. Ha maybe then I'll be able to do the "Mustache Cash Stash" thing.

I'm going to cut some out of paper and post them on every public bathroom mirror I see!

LOL, it's just paper. Who knows I might be the Banksy of paper mustaches.

Ahh, cut them from post-it notes so no harm no foul.

You need to get a friend to take an action shot.
