Introduction: My Second Crochet Project - Basketweave With Shell Border Lovey

I found a pattern online that I fell in love with and had to learn it right away. It's the basketweave stitch. The piece I made is very small compared to my first project (a full-size afghan), but it was just as much work and took just as long. I made a lot mistakes making this, too, and had to unravel numerous times. When it came time to make a border, I struggled with different stitches but then finally (with the advice of a friend) settled on the shell (or fan) stitch. The finished piece is a great lovey-size blanket for my toddler son.
