Yes we have 'single sticks' in our place but our projectiles are different. We use an improvised arrow and not stones or marbles or bearings. For the arrows, we use 6 inch nails with flattened tips designed into arrowheads and 'feathered' tails. We fabricate a catch in the arrowhead and this will be hooked to the sling in shooting. We call them 'Indian Pana'. :-)
Here's a sample. However, using yarn as 'feather' is not a good idea since it might get tangled in the process of shooting causing the arrow to swing back at the shooter. Its better to use hemp. :-)
Nice work. I would also recommend putting a cloth between the rubber and the branch before tying them with a rubber band (do not use string). The sharp or coarse surface of the branch will eventually produce cuts in your rubber and you don't want this to happen. The cloth prevents this from taking place. :-)
