Hello, welcome to my first instructable. Today I will be teaching you how to make a stylus for your DS, for cheap.

WARNING: When not in use switch the stylus to the unclicked position. This will prevent unnecessary stress on the tape's adhesive which may cause the stylus tip to not come out far enough for effective use.

Step 1: Gather Materials

What you will need:

1. A click pen about five inches long and wide enough the stylus can slightly wiggle inside the shell.
2. A Nintendo DS Stylus. One from a DSi is best, it is the longest won't bang against the sides too much.
3. A roll of electrical tape.
4. A file or piece of sandpaper.
5. A hacksaw, dremel or any cutting tool.
6. About an hour of free time.

Step 2: The Pen Part 1

Take the pen apart by pulling on it or unscrewing it, or however it comes apart. You should have the four basic parts, the top shell, the pen part, spring and bottom shell or clicker (Image 1). Using your cutting tool, saw off the part with the threads on the clicker (Image 2). Set this aside for later (Image 3).

Step 3: The Pen Part 2

Grab your stylus and place it through the top shell, if the tip sticks out easily (Image 1) you can skip this step. If your stylus doesn't stick out easily, using your file or sandpaper sand/file the tip of the shell (Image 2) until it fits through easily (Image 1).

Step 4: Shell Minimization Part 1

Using your cutting tool remove some of the plastic until there is about an inch and a half of extra space past the clip part (Image 1). Screw the piece with the threads to the top shell (Image 2). Insert your stylus into the top shell (Image 3).

Step 5: The Optional Step

If when you take your pen apart you have a plastic piece like this (Image 1) that is hollow on the inside, fill it with hot glue using a low temperature glue gun (Image 2) before you finish minimizing the shell.

Step 6: Shell Minimization Part 2

Saw and file the bottom of the shell until it is just the right length to click the stylus in and out (Image 1). File down the tip of the the top shell until the stylus (without the spring) sticks out of the shell approximately a half-centimeter (Image 2). Using electrical tape, attach the threaded bit to the bottom shell (make sure it's straight), screw the pieces together and you are done (Image 3)!

WARNING: When not in use switch the stylus to the unclicked position. This will prevent unnecessary stress on the tape's adhesive which may cause the stylus tip to not come out far enough for effective use.
I have made a lego ds stylus in the shape of a Mercury-Redstone rocket.<br>just follow this link:https://www.instructables.com/id/Lego-Mercury-Redstone-rocket-ds-stylus/
Me and my friends used to just use empty mechanical pencils as styluses when we would lose all of ours :)
Yeah, you could do that, but it'll scratch your screen up big time.
It did scratch it a little bit :(
This is a pretty awesome idea though!
