This instructable gives you detailed instructions as to the creation of the WORLDS BEST PAPER AIRPLANE

Step 1: The Basic Start

First, you fold a peice of 8.5X11 paper in half, crease it, and reopen it.
Then, you flip it over so that the fold is mountain (/\) side up.
Next you fold the top corners (at 45 degree angles) towards the /\ crease.

Step 2: Make the Wings

Flip the plane over so the plane is pointing away from you, and the center crease is in a valley orientation (v).
Now, fold the wings so that the once-leading edges of the wing are one mm from the v crease, and crease.
Flip the plane over, and bend the nose in half, under the front, and crease.
Flip back over, and fold one whole side so that the leading edge is touching the bottom of the plane, crease, repeat on the other side, and there are your wings

Step 3: Finish the Plane (add Tail)

Open the wings, and make a cut one inch from the rear of the plane on the bottom of the v slanting slightly forward, and push it up to convert it from a v to an /\, and crease it so it stays up strait.
Fold the wings back down, and perk the up a little, so that the still face downwards slightly, but aren't facing up.

Step 4: Give It a Slow to Moderate Throw!

the plane is complete, and flies very well at many speeds. Just throw, and let go right where you want it to fly (it goes in almost exactly straight flight paths. Watch the video to see how well it goes!
This is my first instructables, criticism and compliments welcome.

I have put a staple in the nose of mine and folded the tail wing. Very nice, flies straight.

nice but what the flat tip for?

To keep the nose of the plane from being bashed when landing (or crashing).

good design. I made a couple modifications. very accurate

i was at my grandma's house when i tried it, so it flew horrible. it kept crashing and doing half loops...

nice dude
The best ever !Now this is my favourite desgin for a paper airplane !
I was skeptical at first, but this is the best airplane I have ever made!!!!!!!!!! :)
made many but... holy crap! this is amazing
Out of the hundreds of paper airplanes i've made, best one yet!!!!!! :D
the most cool and simplest thing ever......thanks 7B)
this is very complicated and too hard too make.....
it really isn't that hard, just look at the pictures :)
really?
complicated? you just cut the airplane
Skill and difficulty is an opinion.
it's almost so easy, that you don't even need words, just pics, how could it be hard, it's one of the easiest planes to make
this is not complicated at all.
just follow the pics and then its easier to under stand
dude its the simplest thing ive ever seen in my life!?!
best plane in the world, but can someone tell me how to post videos even though i'm not allowed.
out of ALL the planes i've ever made and tried to make... this is the absolute best... simple to make great stability and flies great.... awsome
Nicely done. I really love this airplane. I've made one very similar to this many times before. I tried this one out and it flew incredibly. Extremely stable paper airplane. Thanks for posting! Check out some of ours on PaperHangar.com
thanks man, this works great, and it wasn't hard!
it really works thanks
Out of all the Paper Airplanes i tried on this site, this is the best. the plane is consistent looks cool, the steps are easy, and the commenters on this board help alot. For physics we have to make a project (nt neccesarily a paper airplne) That travels 25 yards, and im thimking im going to get an A!
I threw it and it hit the door but it works realy well thanks.
The plane flies very well.

Great instructable.

Thank you!
It's not so good, but I put the cut rear in other models, and they are now great!
Great plane! While I'm currently restricted to a small room, it flew very well and straight. I would also like to mention on the quality of the Instructable. Very well laid out, deep and yet simple to follow.
thanks for the instructable , but wtf with the brown marks on your bed xD
the plane looks really cool, but when you throw it it tends to veer upwards.
the pics are confusing.
I wish I had this plane for a contest we did at school. My boring plane was fine when i practiced but It ended in an epic fail. But this Plane is amazing
this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in this which type of motor is used??plzz tell me
Very nice. one of the best planes ive ever made/flown.
I incorporated the flap design into other failed models, they work great now thank you so much
It flies good with a paper clip holding the front.
plzzzz tell me,how to make it
on the practice, it flew fine, but when it came to the grade, I got an F.....how annoying......
I hope that this will get me my A+.....
This is a great little airplane. I am a retired Airline pilot and make this model for my grandson all the time. One of the reasons I have to make so many is the things fly out of our yard, and across the highway and disappear and I have a big yard.

I do modify it somewhat however. I don't let it stay "loose" I squeeze the body together and tape the nose to keep it from unfolding so I can cut a small slot on the bottom about an inch from the nose. This allows us to use a rubber band on a stick to "launch" the aircraft. I cut two small ailerons (I would call them stableators) to keep the nose up for best glide angle. You can adjust these to give left turn, right turn if desired.

We launch them straight up and the little thing climb like a homesick angle and once they run out of energy, the glide ratio is just perfect to produce a long graceful flight.

I rarely comment on boards but make this for you kids and you will not be disappointed. Enjoy and thanks to whoever put this up good job.

its well good i reckon its better than the twin jet airplane.
Try not to read the instructions, it just makes it more confusing
I haven't flown the plan yet, but I wanted to comment on your instructable. Despite the many people who have commented on how hard it is to follow, you have done an excellent job of documenting the folding sequence. I would suggest that you number your pictures and text descriptions. That will make it easier to match them up.

Good Job
**edit**

I haven't flown the *plane* yet

i got stuck on step 2.... sigh
