No Explosives Airsoft grenade

Pinned down in the fury of an intense airsoft battle, throw one of these in to give you and your team the upper hand. You will be supprised and impressed when the blast from this little grenade sends your enemies ducking for cover.

Step 1 Supplyes

You only need a few things to make this impressive little grenade,what you'll need is:
Vinegar - any kind will do
Bicarbonate of soda - baking soda
Airsoft bbs - optional - the boom scares them enough, the bbs are just for bragging rights
A small airtight container with a strong held tight fitting lid - NOT like a film canister!
A ziplock bag - you just need the corner
Sissors
And lastly, two hands (have someone help if you only have one :)

I made one of these bit when it blew up it hit me in the eye twice, but luckly it hit my eyelid. if it didn't i would only have one eye that i could see out of. Also my eye did not recover for a few weaks. So kids always were safety goggles.

Wear a paintball mask for airsoft. It will protect your eyes and teeth. Yes, I said teeth. For those out there that don't already know, airsoft bbs can chip and shatter teeth. A friend of mine learned that the hard way....

my only problem is when it explodes, wont a victim have like, 1,000s of plastic shards in their face instead of bbs?

 yes your right, i just didn't put that in because it is intended for airsoft where you should always ALWAYS wear eye protection.

haha glad to see you got it to work...sort of, lol. Did you hold onto it for too long or did the baking soda mix with the vinegar before you got the cap on?

no ,so heres the story i had it all ready and i had shaked the bottle and thrown it. the bottle expands but not alot. after 5 min. i decided to just empty it and try to put more baking soda in...well i unscrewed the cap and it made my hand numb and sting...where able to watch the video? lol what do you think i did wrong?

Oh, ok well in that case there are two things you can try. The first is to just start with more of each substance to begin with which will make more CO2 and hopefully excede the bottle's pressure limit and burst, but another thing you could try is to sand down one side of the bottle so that the plastic is weaker in that area.

yah i guess ill try that but i always sand it down to much and it makes a hole. the one that exploded on my hand was the first out of 3 i didnt make a hole in. just to tell u im using a sander wheel to soften one of the sides. also, ive tried to put more baking soda in but it was to much for the bag i guess ill be more careful.

my container of choice: the screw=top bionacle canisters with the holes in the top sealed. carry around a few of those during a war and you've basically won if they swarm you. with airsoft pellets in it, it has ~20 foot blast radius, with pellets put into trees within five feet, nearly made me go deaf from the noise.

depending on your choice of container, very loud, like as loud as a mid-caliber rifle.

Most people tend to get angry when their 200+ dollar high end AEG's get soaked with vinegar and baking soda. Just my $0.02...

If you use a small bottle, there isn't really a large amount of liquid flying around. Most of the liquid atomizes when it explodes. Even if it does get on your gun, there is very little chance that there is enough liquid to damage the gun. Even if the gun did get pretty wet, you could just let it dry and wipe it off, and it would work fine again.

If you had a strong bag, Couldnt you spring load it so you wouldnt have to twist as much, by putting everything in + the spring, and then seal n cut. Then just twist some, the bag slips, shake, throw, BOOOOOM!!!!!!!!! Easy.

You could, but it wouldnt improve it at all, and it would be a waste of springs.

The best containers that I have found are the small 1-pint water bottles. I buy them at Wal-mart in flats of 20 for five dollars, then I dump out the nasty plastic-tasting water inside, sand the sides for a second or two against an orbital sander, and use those. they work great, and are super economical.

Sorry about that. I had no idea that vinegar was that corrosive! I'll be sure to keep mine far away from any vehicles from now on! (And I'd advise you to do the same:)

If it has an airtight seal it should work fine.

Your bottle may not have an airtight cap.

What you need todo is score the walls of the bottle so it explodes and cracks apart along those seams.

I think that's the trick to why my bottles work, I got them at a recycle store which means there was something wrong with them so they weren't put on the market and I believe it's because of the seam. They consistently break along one of the two seams, so scoring the sides of the bottle would probably work very well.
