No Explosives Airsoft grenade by flamethrower1010

Step 3: Priming

To prime, remove the cap and tap the bag gently into the bottle untill the top of the bag is just below the top of the bottle, put the cap back on tightly. Now shake twice so there isn't a immediate reaction and throw. The bang combigned with the flying bbs is sure to get you the upper hand in the battle!

Thanks!

What you need todo is score the walls of the bottle so it explodes and cracks apart along those seams.
evilmadcow says: Sep 3, 2012. 1:50 PM
you also forgot it is designed to explode at the making
flamethrower1010 (author) says: Nov 30, 2010. 3:40 AM
I think that's the trick to why my bottles work, I got them at a recycle store which means there was something wrong with them so they weren't put on the market and I believe it's because of the seam. They consistently break along one of the two seams, so scoring the sides of the bottle would probably work very well.

wont the vinegar escape? when it about to explode
Loosewire; SOE Operative says: Jan 5, 2011. 1:12 AM
I think he mean just score the sides to weaken them rather than actually cutting through the bottle.
fastlines49s says: Oct 13, 2010. 7:46 AM
that's a smart idea...

I made one of these bit when it blew up it hit me in the eye twice, but luckly it hit my eyelid. if it didn't i would only have one eye that i could see out of. Also my eye did not recover for a few weaks. So kids always were safety goggles.

P.S. I didn't!

Wear a paintball mask for airsoft. It will protect your eyes and teeth. Yes, I said teeth. For those out there that don't already know, airsoft bbs can chip and shatter teeth. A friend of mine learned that the hard way....

thats mr sonic to you says: May 20, 2011. 7:10 PM
y did you not wear safety glasses all ways where safety glasses or you can plind your self and you dont want that
The3rdPunch says: Apr 14, 2011. 4:09 PM
my only problem is when it explodes, wont a victim have like, 1,000s of plastic shards in their face instead of bbs?
flamethrower1010 (author) says: Mar 27, 2010. 5:20 AM
yes your right, i just didn't put that in because it is intended for airsoft where you should always ALWAYS wear eye protection.
BADWOLF1 says: May 6, 2009. 4:15 PM
won't the canister cover the explosion
(YOUR N says: Aug 13, 2010. 2:31 AM
the canister blows up sqeak
flamethrower1010 (author) says: May 11, 2009. 2:34 PM
not sure what you mean ... if you r thinking the explosion is inside the container it is the reaction that is inside the container which creates carbon dioxide making the canister (the bottle) explode and the air pressure release takes the bbs with it. does that answer your question?
robot343 says: Jun 16, 2009. 8:14 PM
I think he meant the canister will be too strong, and it won't blow up because vinegar and baking soda doesnt make all that much prsssure. I think that it would also be great with a bunch of dry ice in a bottle, filled with bb's, pour water into the bottle, close it, and throw it.......and theres my next instructable :D
ToddisI says: Aug 11, 2010. 12:31 PM
That will explode in like, 2 seconds after you screw on the cap...
ilpug says: Mar 9, 2010. 9:49 PM
didnt think of dry ice... might be a good idea.
flamethrower1010 (author) says: Jun 19, 2009. 1:32 PM
it shouldnt be too strong if you use enough of each "chemical" it should work.
mettaurlover says: Sep 4, 2010. 1:03 PM
I personally just make MRE bombs laced with hot sauce and occasionally BB's. Nothing like getting a massive blast of that stuff to clear out a small area.
minerug says: Jun 29, 2009. 2:18 AM
When I was mucking about with stuff like this, I found a 25/25/50 mix of Tartaric acid (powder), Citric acid, (also powder) and baking soda accompanied by a splash or 3 of vinegar in a plastic milk bottle gets rather good bangs... Try it and see for yourself
ilpug says: Mar 9, 2010. 9:50 PM
would boric acid powder work? ive got a 10 lb. sack of it. whare do you get the tartaric and citric?
dvnkmmy says: Mar 27, 2010. 7:46 AM
what kind of bottle is that? i have a 20 once bottle but im afraid that it is too big.
cheeseandbroccoli says: Jun 27, 2010. 11:15 PM
hi ........................................... strapless parachuting without a parachute is awesome
flamethrower1010 (author) says: Mar 27, 2010. 9:21 AM
20 oz. could work but you would need A LOT of the chemicals and it would take a long time for it to blow up.
i'm not sure what kind of bottle but i've heard that a sunny d bottle works well
Underclass Hero says: Jan 3, 2010. 6:11 PM

thanks man i must try this

Smeds says: Sep 14, 2009. 4:30 PM
I'd say that this isn't the best grenade, but if you are in a war where you are using them for the first time, it has possibilities as a distraction device. I wonder if increasing the ratio of Baking Soda : Vinegar would have any effect. I was using a 6.75 ounce bottle with 3/4 vinegar and the 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, then switched to a full teaspoon (Link to bottle shape at bottom).
chocowubbles says: Jul 1, 2009. 2:08 PM
Amazing dude, and brilliant. I've tried many variations of the baking soda and vinegar airsoft grenade, and this is by far the best.
pieman12 says: Jun 22, 2009. 7:19 AM
that was so cool. i used a pill bottle and it worked realy well :D
covey12 says: Jun 18, 2009. 12:04 PM
that looks like one of those energy shot bottles like 5-hour energy
d2j5 says: May 27, 2009. 12:02 PM
what kind of bottle is that ? so i can make one
flamethrower1010 (author) says: May 27, 2009. 1:28 PM
truthfully, i have no idea but a sunny d bottle might work im trying to find another subistute for it.
jamiespark says: Jun 17, 2009. 7:45 AM
water bottles work 2
d2j5 says: May 29, 2009. 12:17 PM
ok thanks
henkow says: Jun 6, 2009. 8:41 PM
Thats very clever. Simple yet effective. Who said all baking sod and vinegar reactions were only good for play school volcano models
kingkulko says: May 16, 2009. 12:42 PM
holy crap that is awesome
