Introduction: No-Sew Doggie Blankey

About: I'm a professional writer and an amateur sewist, builder, hot gluer, dremel user, crocheter, painter, paper crafter, and baker.

I have a 15-year-old dog who lives back home with my mom and he's a sweetheart. My mom said he needed a blanket for her couch so she'd be able to wash it instead of getting her couch dirty. He also likes to try and dig into the couch and get nowhere, so hopefully this blanket will stop that.

Step 1: Before We Start...

Here's a picture of Miles the Lhasa Apso and Roxy the Boxer/Weimaraner.

Step 2: Get Your Fabric

Okay, let's get started. You'll need two different patterned fabrics that are the same size. I got 1 1/4 yards for both of my adorable dog fabrics. Cut off your selvage and put them wrong-sides-together.

Step 3: Cut Your Fabric

Cut a 2" square from all four corners, then cut 2" strips all the way around.

Step 4: Tie Your Fabric

Now tie all of those strips together!

Step 5: Put a Dog on It

Now since I have to mail this blanket before Miles can actually lie down on it, here's a picture of a stuffed dog that will have to do.

Step 6: That's Literally It.

I like that it's reversible. So on one side is the David Bowie Boston Terriers and the other side is adorable paw prints.
