Introduction: No More Run Away Thread Spools!!!

Are you tired of sewing and all of a sudden you drop a spool of thread and it rolls all over the floor? I know I am!! with this instructable you will no longer have to worry about that.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

For this simple craft you will need

-A spool of thread

-A rigid siding such as balsa wood or cardstock

-glue (I used hot glue)

-And scissors or a sharp blade

Step 2: Start Cutting

Now you will need to cut squares out of the rigid siding material that you chose. I found it works best if these are just a little larger than the diameter of the spool.

Also, you will want to poke a hole through the center of your square so that it can be put on a sewing machine or re-threaded.

It would also be nice if there was a little notch on the edge of the siding to tuck the thread into when it is in storage.

Step 3: Get Your Glue Out

After your squares are cut put some glue around the edge of each side of the spool and stick on you previously cut sides.

Step 4: Give It to Your Mom

Once you have it all complete then give your nifty creation o your mother and earn some brownie points at the same time.

I made a bunch of these and my mom loved them because she no longer has to chase rolling spools around anymore.

Step 5: Optional Creative Step

If you want to give this a little custom and creative pizazz then paint or color the sides the same color as the thread. This also helps to organize the spools.

Now you can impress your mother with this awesome little sewing aid.
