I love Butterfingers. I think they have just the right amount of flakiness and chocolate flavor to them. My mom loves them too. However, my dad is allergic to peanut butter so I wanted to make a kind of butterfinger without peanut butter. So introducing: Nutella Butterfingers. They are decadent, flaky, and is the perfect indulgent treat. It's made with the infamous Nutella, a delicious hazelnut spread. These can be decorated with chocolate and many other toppings. Be as creative or simple as you want! Nutella Butterfingers is the perfect treat for those who want an alternative to the ever-popular Butterfinger.

Step 1: Ingredients

Picture of Ingredients
Things you need to make these delicious treats:
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of Nutella
  • some butter for greasing
  • some extra decorations- I used some white chocolate. Use some almonds, sprinkles, chocolate, or anything else you want to add.
You might want to have some parchment paper, candy thermometer, kitchen shears on hand for later too.

Step 2: Adding the Ingredients

First start by cutting out a piece of parchment paper. I greased the paper too, just in case. In a saucepan, combine corn syrup and water. Stir with a spoon and place the saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar.

Step 3: Cooking the Mixture

Prepare the Nutella in a bowl. Cook the mixture until the mixture becomes clear, while stirring constantly. Wait until it comes to a boil, stop stirring, and measure the temperature with the candy thermometer. Change the heat to high and heat the mixture up to 310 degrees Fahrenheit. Then remove the mixture from the heat.

Step 4: Adding the Nutella

Add the Nutella to the mixture and mix well. Pour the mixture onto the parchment paper and smooth to the thickness you like. I used a pizza cutter to score the mixture but the kitchen shears were definitely easier to use when cutting the candy. Cut the candy into whatever size you like. I made some mini ones and regular sized ones too.
:D
i tried a butterfinger once..OK but a bit to crumbly and odd for my liking, these Nutella ones look MUCH nicer :D

Your dad's allergic to peanuts but not hazelnuts? Wonder what's in peanuts that's not in the hazelnuts....
peanuts are a legume, not a nut.
True, but people who are allergic to peanuts seem to also be allergic to tree nuts.

That would be great! I'm glad you liked the recipe. (And I don't even remember where I got those plates but what a coincidence).
Thanx! Do you know where to get Nutella? :D

Nutella can be found in your local grocery store. Probably next to the peanut butter and jams.
I don't see it in the grocery store, but I just had just enough for the recipe. Thanx!

Oh and also for all of your instructables, you have the exact plate that I do.

Really? The white one?
Yep. It's weird. My dad uses those for burritos. So when I saw that plate a noticed that it is the exact same plate.

Looks good, but, I don't think the ingredients make much sense.

2 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 1/2 tablespoons cup water

Is it 2 1/2 tablespoons of water or 2 1/2 cups of water? and only 2 1/1 tablespoons of corn syrup?

I'd like to make this, but the proportions didn't seem to add. :)

Oops :) Sorry! It's supposed to be:

2 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 1/2 tablespoons water

I hope you do try to make this! Be warned: it doesn't make that many butterfingers so double or triple to your needs :)

I hope I got a vote!
