DON'T BUILD THIS, BUILD THE ULTRA PISTOL 2

Description: More powerful, accurate, stable, part efficient, and comfortable than the Super Pistol, this gun has been engineered to death as a single shot and is my most reliable k'nex weapon. The front half of the barrel is now also super light so that it still can be easily aimed and fired with one hand. This instructable was all done with MLCad. I have already made a new upgraded version of this gun with a 6 round hopper but I did make this in physical form before making the computerized version.

Influences: Loosely based on Jollex's DD-27 Pistol.

Length: 13 inches (longest section)
Width: 3 inches (widest section)
Height: 3.5 inches (tallest section)

Max Accuracy: 5 inch target from 10 feet.
Rate Of Fire: Load, cock, and fire.
Ammo: Gray rods.
Max range: 35 feet.

Features: iron sights, true trigger
Flaws: None.

Note: This gun uses 1 cut part, office tape, and duct tape.

Step 6: Need Help?

Message me if you are having trouble.
What's the best type of rubber-band for this gun?
By the way, It's the best long-barreled pistol i've seen on the web and DEFINITLY the best gun i've ever made.
is there anything that could replace the blue and green things on step 15?
THE ULTRA PISTOL 2 HAS BEEN RELEASED
CHECK IT OUT!
Well, I made this gun to get revenge on someone, but wow, after finishing it, that would be cruel XD It took awhile, but I finally found a good rubber band that doesn't put stress on the firing rod, but it is still pretty powerful, and best of all, I can cock it back in less than a second. I love style of the gun:Super huge pistol, or shotgun. Love it. Also,I found it fires farther when the bullet is in the middle of the barrel, not pushed all the way back.
I made the barrel slightly shorter, and it actually improves accuracy and power a lot! Though with my new barrel design red rods fly the best, grey rods still work to, and since they slightly stick out the front of the barrel you can aim the gun up and down without worrying about the round to got loaded in falling out.

Interesting.
No mag?

I chose to make this one over the Beast pistol only because of the one-shot-then-load system I have much luck with in K'nex wars. When I told the 5 friends I shot with it at long range (14 feet to 20 feet and hit them) that I got this off Instructables from a guy called Oblivitus, they logged in, looked at your weapon supply, and stated, quite simply: "We hereby ban any weapons made by Oblivitus from the battlefield for being too powerful." I told them, "It's your fault for not stating the rules before that some guns are too strong." They replied: "We didn't know you were bringing the tank."

shoot them with the real DD-27, or the SR-v1, maybe the BR-v1 next time.
I intend to. Or perhaps a version I've been working on for a very long time: single shot, firing similar to the SR-v1 (is that the one with the nail in the knex piece, firing Slingshot style?) complex multi-linkage True Trigger design, and is dependable in how it loads and shoots. Problem is, it's uglier than sin and has a high-length loading time. The bonus, though, is that it spits yellow bolts (more yellow than red w. me) at 250 FPS measured by a chronograph.
*SR-v2, sorry.
Thanks, lol.
one of the best guns i have made

Thanks, I have a version 2 built and I will be making instructions for it sometime.

The Ultra Pistol 2 has been released.

finally made it!
Cool, build the Ultra Pistol 2 when I release it and tell me what you think of the improvements. Keep this gun until then if you can, so that you can better compare them.
alright! And by the way, do you know about a site called lockerz? It is really awesome.
yo, i made this into a sniper! it was awesome! when is the ultra pistol 2 comin out though? looks awesome.
I finished the Ultra Pistol 2 mlcad model yesterday. I'm starting the instructions today, should be done in a week or two.
I admire your patience and creativity.........MLCAD is good and effective but is sooooooooo time consuming. How on earth do you put up with doing that whole gun picture, it must have taken ages to do!
Thank you, and yes, it took a few hours to make the model. But that's nothing compared to my Z35, it probably took 30 hours to make the whole instructable on MlCad.
in these steps do you do the same to the other side
What is it that you want to know?
hey oblivitus, one question: what does your name mean? always wondered :)
I made it up, it is based on the word oblivious, which basically means no memory, I simply changed one letter (I swapped the i for a t) to make a cool name.
oh :P i though it was like a ancient name like from WoW or something
your name sounds like roman empire or general Oblivitus where under attack by ceasar Oblivitus:SEND IN CAVALAAAAAAAAARYYYYYY!!!!!! XD
correction: I swapped the o for a t.
On part 14 of step 3 where do you attach the blue rods? I mean id understand better if there was a birds eye view of the model like in part #5
The blue rods do not attach to the rest of the gun, each merely holds up the 3 single slot and one 2 slot connectors that cover up the trigger mech. The green connectors clip on to the green rods that are attached to the white snowflake connectors, if you are wondering how the whole trigger mech guard assembly hooks on.
i do not have the black wons what can i use instead
The black pieces represent this part.
part 17 what is tht blue and green piece
That is a hinge.
Ok. Thanks I now understand how it attaches, but I need to ask you one last question. With the trigger mechanism on part 15 how do the two purple connectors connect to the green connectors? I mean does the chopped off green rod connect to the two yellow connectors on the gun when you do part 20? Im sorry with these questions btw. This is one of my first knex instructables.
whatg is tht blue and green thing on 17
cool its like the size of a double barrel shotgun tho
#2 will have a shorter barrel.
I have no blue connecters what could i use instead?
White connectors should work fine.
Lol, the name is stolen xD JK, JK pretty cool! 4.5 stars!
I just started making a 3-D model of my Beast pistol, check it out. The outside is mostly finished but the mechanics of it need a couple more hours of work. This just gives you an idea of what it will look like, it has a 6 round hopper for gray rods and still has the same power as the Ultra Pistol.
Greys?! Damn, that must've been alot of work to put in a pistol :P Looks sweet, and please post it! :)
Don't worry, I will be posting it quickly. The hopper is actually infused with the barrel, and once cocked, you can tilt the gun as much as straight down without the ammo falling out.
No you can't. Why did I say that?
