Introduction: Octoswitch a K'nex Path Separator

This is Octoswitch, my new path separator! I might use the Octoswitch in my next full-scale k'nex ball machine. If you want to build it, go to the next step!

Step 1: The Piece Count

these are all the pieces you will need to build Octoswitch!


Rods - 401

Large flexible - 4

Grey - 1

Red - 1

Yellow - 68

Blue - 171

Orange - 26

Dark grey - 3

3D blue - 80

3D purple - 87

Miscellaneous - 52

Tan clip - 6

Blue spacer - 6

Small blue gear - 1

Large yellow gear - 1

motor - 1

Step 2: Base and Motor

here you are building the bottom of the base, and the motor . (well... no, your not building the motor.... your just putting it in the bottom of the base.)

Step 3: Gear and More Base

Look! A big yellow gear! What will we do with it? Put it in the base and build more base!

Step 4: White Mesh-ish

Its not exactly white mesh, but it'll do. Don't spill all those dark grey connectors and silver spacers!

Step 5: The Switcher

It doesn't actually switch... it just spins... But it switches between paths!

Step 6: The Path Starters (optional)

You don't have to build these, They just give you a nice start on your path. But if your lazy (or have other ideas) you can skip this step.

Step 7: The Circle of Steadyness

Build this! it will make your switcher more steady! YAY!

Step 8: The Top

This isthe top! you can't get more top then the top! and also it's the path into the switcher, you could skip the path i guess, but it looks so cool! (so if you want to be uncool then go ahead and skip the path!)

Step 9: Your Done!

You are now done your new path separator! now all you have to do is put it in your k'nex machine! have fun!
