Many a times I have been wanting to build something dangerous from something not so dangerous. I went through a “pen gun” phase where I went crazy about building a pen gun. I was somewhat successful but not perfect. I needed a weapon that would bother the guy next to me but not something that would get me in trouble. I came up with this...the 5 minute binder clip catapult. If you are interested, read below.

Step 1: DISCLAIMER

DISCLAIMER:

I, (NAME GOES HERE), HEREBY GRANT MYSELF TO USE SUCH DANGEROUS OF A WEAPON. I PROMISE TO USE THIS IN THE NAME OF GOOD AND TO BOTHER PEOPLE...NOT TO KILL. IF HOWEVER ANY INJURIES TAKE PLACE I MAY NOT HOLD blinkyblinky RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHARGES. BUILDING A DEVICE AS LETHAL AS THIS IS OF YOUR OWN CHOICE AND SO, IF I AM CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER, I HAVE NO RIGHT TO BLAME blinkyblinky FOR ANY CHARGES PRESSED UPON MYSELF.

Now, with that out of the way, let us begin.

I find that just putting some tape around handle makes a nice cup for catapulting. That way, you're using all the power of the binder clip for shooting. And you don't have to bother with a spoon and all those rubber bands.
I like rubber bands. I like spoons. Plus this thing has super power when firing. I use lever technology and so it is fine the way it is...

I like your suggestion though. However the way it is is fine to me.
