This area used to be a cattery (an outdoor cat cage), but more recently it was used as a storage area. It was covered in chicken wire and filled with boxes full of Christmas decorations that never quite made it to the attic. One day my husband, MIL, and I decided it was time for a change. We tore off the chicken wire, removed some of the framing (non-load bearing, of course) to open up the area, and cleaned the area out. We moved planting tables into the space along with planting necessities. The newly defined area definitely gets more use and makes the yard look better too.

Now this is really interesting, I've always loved hanging gardens. Do you think you could please post more pictures though, I'd really like to see more.
