One Skillet Breakfast

One Skillet Breakfast
This is how I make a quick breakfast in 1 skillet. It consists of eggs, faux sausage, and toast. To anyone who really cooks this will not be an amazing instructable. I've made this for the last 5 days in a row. Tasty!

Step 1Preparation

Preparation
Preparation is the key to a good and quick meal. I did not realize until recently how important this step is.

In the meantime i start heating the skillet.

I get the ingredients out:
*2 eggs
*fake sausage
*bread
*margarine
*plate
*butter knife
*cup or small bowl
*plate

Add a piece of fruit to this and you've got a great breakfast! Otherwise a few veggie garnishes will both add colour, flavour and vital nutrients to the meal.

Put a tomato or two in the the skillet sliced in half, that's the complete quote...

I agree completely, with the one exception that it's bad to fry tomatoes in cast iron - it's hard on the finish and the tomatoes also come out wonky tasting.

Ah my skillet is a simply oversized frying pan made of what appears to be aluminium but it won't divulge it's secrets to me, guess I'll just give in and stop asking how it manages to survive charred breakfast after mildly explosive ones... *Note I have made a frying egg explode, not sure how but it's not a cooking achievement, nor suitable ceiling decoration against white.

I've made a egg explode (i boiled it in the microwave). Except it poked the yolk and was looking strait down into it and it exploded everywhere including my face, the ceiling, and the kitchen area. (it also smelled horrible).

i dont like cooking with cast-iron all the time, you have to use alot more oil or spray

Actually you don't need that much oil once the pan is properly seasoned and is kept that way. Just don't put it in a dishwasher or wash it heavily. All you do with cast iron is rinse it and wipe it out with a towel.

I don't know what "faux" sausage is. Could it be one of those vegetarian things made of soy?

/nod at all of the milkers, I think milk adds a lot to eggs.

Use water for omelette's, scrambled eggs should get milk.

With a skillet large enough, I could cook the world!

I'm hungry now

A little suggestion: A lot of recipes that call for water often are tastier if you substitute it for milk. Eggs and brownies are both great examples of this. Next time you make either of those, try using milk instead of water and see how you like it.

But keep in mind that this is not always true, so do use it as a cure-all
