Thank you for putting this up! I learned how to do this when I lived in Japan, but when I moved back to the US, I forgot how to do it. This totally helped!

Amazing idea, but your steps could be a bit clearer than "fold the paper and then fold it again." Other than that, handy little Instructable to have mastered.

Would it be possible to tape a bit of celophane wrap to the paper and make a temporary water tight bowl?
May 11, 2008. 10:51 PMRiddleOfSphinx says:
You could possibly cut a piece of freezer paper to the size of the A4 paper ;) Actually, I think I may try that some time :D ...it'd be a handy survival trick :D

The bowl is cool, it's just that the directions are not specific and the video could be a little slower. All in all, it's a really cool thing!

I can't follow the third step- you jumped over way too fast to understand what you did. Other than that very cool, I will try to make it

Jul 12, 2007. 3:48 PMjeffcapeshop says:
i use this one for crisps (chips), bombay mix or other small snacks on long car journeys - bags always split, and it's easier to manufacture these on the fly than to carry bowls! + no cleaning.. i also made a spoon using the same basic premise - pretty useless mind ;) if i ever get it to work (maybe with thick waterproof paper..) i'll post it up.
Jul 1, 2007. 12:03 AMjessyratfink says:
That was actually pretty fun. You could make two of these and use them to house a present, too!
