Whats about the bottles?
Is it possible to do something with the horchata bottles (I say horchata but maybe I can say chocolate milkshakes, milk or whatever which comes bottled in plastic bottles with big caps)?
YES!
Among many other things, we can do a bowling to play outside! (We can call it more exactly Skittles)

En verano me encanta beber horchata: Fresca, sabrosa y dulce!
Pero...
¿Y con las botellas?
¿Se puede hacer algo con las botellas de horchata (quien dice horchata dice leche o batido de cacao o...)?

Pues si! entre muchas otras cosas, podemos hacer unos bolos para jugar al aire libre!

Step 1: Materials - Materiales

The only thing we really need for this skittle game are the plastic bottles, ten to be exactly and something to fill it up.
Although this can be done with sand or water, I have used plaster because thus we can place the bowling pins upside down and gain the characteristic lose of balance from the common bowling pins.

Materials needed:
10- 1litre plastic bottles (aprox),
5 kg of plaster (cement can be used, but I consider the gray color ugliest than the white one...),
Colored thumbtacks,
A container big enough in where to mix the plaster,
A big stemmed funnel.

Ah, and also, to play, we need a ball. We use a soccer one, but maybe a mini-basketball one goes better.

La única cosa que necesitamos realmente son las botellas de plástico, diez para ser exactos y algo con lo que rellenarlas. Aunque esto pueda ser hecho con agua o arena, yo he usado yeso, ya que así, podemos colocar los bolos del revés y que así ganen el efecto de perdida de equilibrio característico de los bolos.

Materiales necesarios:
10 botellas de plástico de 1 litro (o similar),
5 kilos de yeso en polvo (se puede usar cemento, pero considero que el color gris, es mas feo que el blanco...),
Chinchetas de colores,
Un recipiente grande (donde hacer la mezcla del yeso),
Un embudo con el cuello grueso.

Ah, y para jugar, también necesitamos una pelota. Nosotros usamos una de fútbol, pero seguramente una de mini-baloncesto vaya mejor...

Step 2: Drink - Beber.

First step is easy. It consist on to drink ten liters of horchata.
And after drink each horchata bottles, they must be cleaned and dried, because horchata quickly decays.

El primer paso, es fácil, se trata de beber diez litros de horchata.
Una vez acabada cada una de las botellas de horchata, se ha de limpiar y secar, ya que la horchata se pudre rápido.

Step 3: Pin It - Pinchala

We need do something to add some rugosity to allow the plaster remain on the bottle's neck. To reach this rugosity, we must nail some thumbtacks. If colored thumbtacks are used and are pinched with a little "savoir- faire" we will get a nice and cute effect.

Para que una vez introducido el yeso, este se aguante dentro del cuello de la botella, hemos de conseguir que este cuello tenga la suficiente rugosidad donde el yeso se sustente. Y para conseguir esto y darle a las botellas un mejor aspecto, podemos clavar en las botellas unas chinchetas.
Si lo hacemos con un poco de gracia y con varios colores diferentes, quedarán aún mejor.

Step 4: Enclosing - Enyesar

We must prepare the plaster mix according to manufacturer's guidelines, but considering that we need our cast quite liquid to be inserted onto the bottles. We need to mix a small amount of plaster, sufficient to fill three or four bottles at a time. If we prepare more plaster mix, is quite probably it dries...
A good trick to mix the plaster is to fill the container with half a liter of water and go throwing handfuls of plaster scattered on the surface.
Once we have trowed 0,5 or 0,6kg stir it with a stick and before it solidifies, with the help of a funnel, fill the bottles.
If we do not have a funnel like this one, we can cut the neck of a funnel or build one with a plastic bottle that has the opening smaller than the horchata's bottle we are using.
The bottles must be filled only up to a quarter and quickly capped and put it upside down so that the plaster harden/dry in the bottle's neck, not in the ass.

Prepararemos la mezcla siguiendo las directrices del fabricante pero teniendo en cuenta que necesitamos que nuestro yeso sea bastante liquido. Haremos poca cantidad de cada vez, cómo mucho 600 gramos, suficientes como para rellenar de una tacada tres o cuatro botellas de plástico sin que se nos seque el yeso en el recipiente.
Un buen truco para mezclar el yeso es llenar el recipiente con medio litro de agua e ir echándole puñados de yeso bien esparcidos por la superficie. Una vez hayamos echado 500 o 600 gramos de yeso, removemos con un palo.
Cuando tengamos el yeso mezclado y antes de que solidifique, vamos rellenado las botellas. Para esta operación podemos usar un embudo con el cuello ancho o si no lo tenemos, recortar el cuello a un embudo o hacernos uno con una botella de plástico que tenga la abertura menor que las de horchata que usamos.
Una vez hemos rellenado la botella con un cuarto de litro de yeso, la tapamos rápidamente y la colocamos boca abajo para que el yeso solidifique en el cuello, no en el culo.

Step 5: Clean It Up - Limpiar

As you may have stained the bottles of plaster, once the plaster is dry, the bottles must be cleaned out with water and a brush or sponge.

Cómo seguramente las botellas se habrán manchado de yeso, una vez que este esté seco, se tendrán que limpiar por fuera con agua y un cepillo o un estropajo.

Step 6: Let's Play - a Jugar!

And... That's all folks!
Place the bottles upside down as if you are on a bowling lane and throw a ball against them... There is no secret at all!
