Nowadays it may get hard to get the kids outdoor and switch from tablets or smartphones to some physical activity. What you need is an adventure - a real life game that will be fun and make everyone move. A simple scavenger hunt can be a good reason for a walk for the whole family as well!

Materials:

Printer and paper
Whiteboard markers
Scissors
Optional: laminator and laminating pouches OR cardboard and a glue stick

Step 1: Download Templates

The surroundings can differ a lot depending on the place you live. The need to find traffic lights may be disappointing in a countryside as well as looking for wild flowers in a city. You can print out a blank template and write in objects that you could probably spot during a walk OR download some sample games and see if they work for you. In the second page of the blank template you will find a list of ideas what to write in - have fun!
TIP: insert pictures instead of words for children that can't read yet!Make it less specific like searching just for a car or a letter, not a red one.

Step 2: Getting the Game Ready

Print out the game. If you printed the blank version, fill it with words or pictures of objects. If you have more players then one use the same objects but in mixed order to make the game fun.

Step 3: Cut!

Cut out each game.

Step 4: Make It Survive (optional)

Laminating will make it more durable and easier to hold. If the game has been laminated, you can just wipe off the marker and use the game again! If you don't have a laminator, glue the paper on a cardboard, it will make it more durable.

Step 5: Play and Have Fun

Go outside and play! Give out markers, game cards and have fun! Everytime someone spots an object listed on the card, he can circle or cross it out. Goals - to move and get 4 in a row! Prepare small snacks for players or celebrate with a family meal after.
